Thank you all. It's always sad when a child dies... strange to think this was almost 150 years ago... and had she grown to be an old woman, she would still have been dead before most of us were born...

Thank you, Kyra and Sue! I, too, love the colors! I chose the sections of scribbling for the colors and taped them on from the back, not really knowing what the over all look was until I was finished and turned it over. A fun piece!

Thank you all very much! Yes, Ruth, that is the Capitol Dome at the end of the street. The bikes go all the way to it, with a one block interruption for a stage, which can be seen in the yellow below the dome. Lots of motorcyles! An interesting cultural phenomenon!
Kyra, Texas was a lot of fun... and the volleyball was great (US Open Championships) with my team placing 9th of 22. A fun week! I'll post more photos from the trip. Thank you all again!!

Thank you all very much! This is in Bryce Canyon, which indeed, Amelie, is in Utah. These stone objects are (for some reason) called "Hoodoos" and to me they tend to appear very "person-like" in their appearance, the formations seeming to have facial features that are sometimes haunting and other times humorous. Great photographic subject material!

Nice shot Jackie! I like the way the light filters through the translucent petals emphasizing their delicacy! I would suggest that you try this same shot (with the light behind the flower) and use a flash to see if you can get some detail in the eye of the flower, for that will offset the light coming from behind the flower. You must have a beautiful backyard!

Thank you all! This is one of the better (higher!) "shoe shots" that I have taken. There was a single chain strung waist high along the edge of the trail and I leaned against it to get the most downward view I could, trusting in the chain's strength!Fond memories of a breath-taking moment!
