Michelle, can you point me to the law that states that it's illegal to cut down a Live Oak in FL? I can find no such law reference, and the tree is not on the protected or endagered list. I've cut down plenty of them without any consequence. In fact, I can find no reference to any genus Quercus found on FL's protected list.

Guns aren't the problem. Guns are inanimate objects. Myself, among countless other children were raised around guns by parents who taught us the responsibilities associated with owning and handling them. No one I knew who was raised in such a manner ever touched a gun, even though we knew where they were stored. They were never locked away from us, they were 100% physically accessible at all times, but we knew better than to mess with them without proper supervision and consent. The only times guns were locked up was when no one was in the house, to help prevent theft.

The real problem lies with parenting. It's the parents who don't bother to teach their children about guns and gun safety that are usually to blame. These children who were never properly taught about gun safety are the ones who end up with a gun they shouldn't have, and are the ones who use them for criminal purposes as either minors or as adults.

Gun control and banning guns is not the answer either. As previously stated, banning the guns only bans them from those who follow the law. Criminals already break the law, so what's one more law broken by owning a gun really going to mean to them? Only criminals will then have guns, and be that much more free and prepared to prey upon the unarmed sheeple.

We got skunks o' plenty out here in the boondocks too. They're curious little critters, had 'em walk up on my more times 'n I can count on my fingers and toes. Ne'er been sprayed by one either, if'n ya don't make um afeared they won't stinky up yer skin and clothes with their foul odor. Just let the contrasty little critters sniff around for few minutes and they'll go on their way with no harm done. 'Cept fer Roofus the hound, he got sprayed real good one time with that black n white perfume, so we followed the book that sayed to bury yer stuff fer a week in the soil ta git rid of the stink. Well, it got rid of the odor all right, but we forgot to give Roofus a hose ta breath through. He had a differnt kinda stink by then, twernt no skunky smell though.

There are many interesting uses, but there are some no-no's too:

Don't spray WD-40 in locks, in time it will gum up, also hold dirt and grit and eventually make the lock dificult or impossible to operate, always use a dry lubricant like finely powdered graphite in locks.

Keep WD-40 out of the action of guns. You need a thin coating of a good lubricant for that. WD-40 is a poor-to mediocre lubricant at best.

Do not use WD-40 to lubricate the ball-joints or wheel bearing or other linkage points of your vehicle, these items require a high-pressure grease. WD-40 will not withstand the pressures and will cause premature wear and breakage of these parts.

Do not spray WD-40 on the fretboard of any guitar or wooden musical instrument unless you want to ruin it. WD-40 will cause the wood to soften and degrade with time.

Keep WD-40 off the rubber seals or belts of your vehicle, it will cause the seals to rot at an accelerated rate. The same goes for oil. Use only silicone or wax lubricants on rubber seals and belts.

This Piggly Wiggly was only about 100 miles west from that little hole in wall teensy tinsy town just north of you, okay so maybe isn't that teensy what with the international airport and seaports. It closed down just a little less than a decade ago, right before Food Lion packed up and left.

I agree, it won't be an easy transition at all. But the fact remains that there is the way things are supposed to be and the way things actually are. I've seen companies get rid of persons nearing retirement and screw them out of any benefits they were supposed to get, time and time again. Maybe the it looks good on paper, but there are so many loopholes that more times the not the worker does get the short end of the stick and losing most, if not all benefits. It's very difficult for a recently laid off or unemployed person to pull together enough funds to sue against the misdoings of a large and wealthy corporation which usually has a board of well-paid legal representation at their immediate disposal. It rarely works out in favor of the working man. These corporations know how to work around the system well enough.

No, we don't intentionally want to pad Hugo's pockets. And every American should be willing to sacrafice whatever they have to help preserve the American way of life. But nothing is ever as easy as it seems.

Glad you got through your trip relatively unscathed.

We had a Food Lion here, and a Piggly Wiggly too but they both closed down several years ago, and both had lower prices than the other two stores, which somehow were the ones that didn't close down, even with higher prices. Now it's just Winn-Dixie and Publix to choose from. Publix is now the cheapest, except for the Super-Wally-World grocery section which has some of the worst looking meat and produce I've ever seen, so bad I wouldn't even consider buying anything there.
