We connected back in 2007 when my husband and I were looking at moving to Ohio close to where she lived.

Here is a great poem that was written about death. I love it and wanted to share it with you.

The Traveler
By James Dillet Freeman

She has put on invisibility, Dear Lord, I cannot see-
But this I know, although the road ascends and passes from my sight,
That there will be no night:
That You will take her gently by the hand
And lead her on along the road of life that never ends,
And she will find it is not death but dawn.
I do not doubt that You are there as here,
And You hold her dear.

Our life did not begin with birth,
It is not of the earth;
And this that we call death, it is no more than the opening and closing of a door-
And in Your house how many rooms must be beyond this one where we rest momently.

Yes, I think that Carolion would probably love that we are honoring her this way. She was a communicator even through her art. She is probably hovering over our shoulders wishing that she could jump in and join us. :-)

I agree that she was anticipating it and seeing it as a great exciting journey. I see it that way too although I am not hoping that I make that journey for awhile yet. LOL

Aniko, yes, it is a photo which brings out her energy and light, which is something I believe lives on after the death of the physical body.

Yes, it is beautiful Marinela. I didn't share with you the other part of the story. On the morning of my father's death, she awakened me at 4:44. I heard her voice say, "Go use the restroom because your father is going to pass at 5:00." I got up and went to the restroom. It was dark and quiet. When I came back to the bedroom, I got back into bed. Within minutes, the nurse came and knocked on the door. She said, "I think you better get up because your father is going to pass." He died at 5:09. I still get goose bumps when I think of it.

Dan, you need to look in the mirror when you make judgments like that. I think you're projecting.

The picture is NOT doctored and it is all over the internet and it was on the news at the time it ocurred. The reason I posted the pictures is to show the hypocrisy of people like you.

Thanks, Elizabeth, but many here are Gather cared about Carolion. I am celebrating the light that she was and still is, but now she is the light of spirit.

A great story! My mother nudged me often after her death and every time I looked at the clock it would be 3:33 or 1:11, etc. I didn't understand what it was at first but then remembered my mother's fascination with numbers. She was born on 2/22/1922. She found a way to let me know that she was still with me.

Dianna, you should really check and see if there is a hospice in your town. Hospices take care of people in their own home. They goal is to keep the patient comfortable so they do not die in pain. They have trained volunteers who will stay with your mom while you get out for awhile. My father had hospice care and it was wonderful. Nurses, nurses aides, social workers and chaplains came to his home and helped my stepmother immensely. It is so worth checking out and it is covered by Medicare so there should be no expense to the family.
