We went to a place called "White Post Farms" the other day with the kids. The pumpkins were 69 cents a pound. We got three big ones and my husband's wallet is empty! But the place has a Fall festival with rides and shows and a playground and the girls had a great time.

Sticky situation. I think telling your son to play with other children was the best thing. I would do no more than politely nod at this woman when you see her. She appears to making a mountain out of a molehill and needs to move on.

I like apples (especially Gala and Granny Smith), but prefer peanut butter or caramel dip on mine! How about celery sticks with ranch dressing? (I am trying to lose weight, btw) I also love to munch on cherry or grape tomatoes too!

In my husband's family we draw names out of a hat. The grandchildren (there are four) don't participate and neither will the grandparents. On my side of the family this year we are only buying for the children.
This may sound like a crazy idea, but I have a friend from a very large family. Instead of getting each other gifts (because, don't they have enough stuff anyway?) They put money in a jar ($5 - $10 each) and put names of their favorite charities in a hat. Then somebody's charity gets drawn and they "win". I like this idea alot.
