Thank Jack, I'm glad someone is stand up for me! I only ask that people limit there criticisms to legitimate policy differences. I am not a die hard partisan. I love my country just as much as the next person does. My only goal is to further the debate, like anyone in a true democracy should want to. For those non-believers, I am going to a fundraiser this week in New York. Why don't you come with me and see for yourselves the value of the Obama campaign and how it will change lives.

No. I am not ignorant or misinformed. Lets address your points one by one, shall we?

Sarah Palin is presently under investigation. This is what is commonly referred to as a fact. McCain is a national hero. I have read his books, listened to him while interning in the capital, and read transcripts from many of his speeches. My point is not whether or not John S. McCain is a national hero, it is what type of leadership we need. He has proved to be erratic, temperamental, tempestuous, and just plain mean. Ask anyone who has ever received a McCain - O - Gram. Don't know what that is, then you should probably ask somebody.

Face down Putin? Listen buddy, the mess that we are facing in the Caucuses is entirely are own doing. I tend to read a lot for someone who as you claim is ignorant. We have steadily encroached on those lands ever since Bush II has been in office. This is in direct conflict with the policy his father took after the breakup of the Soviet Union. Bush I refused to embarrass the Russians, as he knew that he still had to treat the new Rusian Republic with respect. This is a Republican policy predicated off Nixon and Detene. You respect your enemies, you do not agitate and annoy them for your own self interests. In case you haven't picked up a magazine, newspaper, book as of late, there is a major pipeline going through Georgia. President Bush famously said that he looked in Putins eyes and claimed he could trust him. I could write a whole article on why this was a huge miscalculation on his part. I dont believe you should have to face down your enemies. It is now economics and trade that will rule the day, not confrontation and military action.

You are foolish in thinking that Global Warming, loss of jobs, and foreign take overs do not have foreign policy implications. Global Warming is an issue to be taking seriously because not only does it affect industries like cars and factories, but it also presents an opportunity to truly garner the respect of the international community. Trust me, that is important. By the way, how do you propose to protect the country from biological and nuclear weapons by pissing of the Russians?

I feel as if you do not understand power or diplomacy, sir. Please look at western history in Iraq, Iran, and the Stans. It wasn't too long ago that Turkmenistan was begging the British to stay, Iran was are friend, and Iraq didn't exist. Please, safe me the effort of having to educate you and do some research.

I don't feel the need to respond to your last statement. The ignorance and obnoxiousness stands alone.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to discuss such an important issue with us here at gather.

Many studies have shown a strong correlation between student participation in the arts and academic achievement. It seems this fact has been lost on politicians, however, and funding has been cut every year for artistic programs within our schools. With a possible recession in the near future and an increasingly expensive two front war, how to you suggest stemming this disturbing trend?

I just got back from six months in Europe and I am sad to say that governments of Western and Eastern Europe have long shown a interest in the artistic endeavors of their citizens. This has manifested itself in a generally more educated, cultured, and informed populous. We are sadly lagging in this regard and are in danger of relinquishing our place as the dominate cultural presence within the global community.

Keep up the good work and I would be curious to hear some of your ideas for implementing some of your truly noble goals.

It is true that he hasnt been vetted as much as other candidates have but for so long my father would tell me that Kerry was going to be strong in '08 because the public had already had there go at him, nothing was a secret, he didnt have to go through the normal criticisms......well, that didnt work out quite so well. Obama may be untested but he is the foil to everything that has gone wrong over the last eight years. He is bright, charismatic, and more then willing to work with the other side on the isle. The only perceived downside at this point, his youth, in my mind is his greatest aset. The defintion of youth is life yet untouched by tragedy. Obama has apparently hasnt been in politics long enough to become a tragedy of wasted talent and enthusiasm. Please run before that no longer is the case.

I think those of you who mock Obama as a "matinee idol" and a "political hack" are missing the point. Once in a lifetime a politican comes around who transcends political ideology and partisan bullshit. He is obviously a bright and capable guy, anyone who has heard him speak cannot help but make that observation and his Senate colleauges are unaminous in their praise of his ability to disect difficult policy issues. He may be young and inexperienced, but he is something special and in my opinion exactly what this country needs right now. George Bush and to some extent Bill Clinton really tore this country apart on ideological fault lines, we need someone we can truely unite us and lead us in our fight to retake our position on the global stage. Danny- I agree with you. Alot of times, candidates have a hard time following through with the opstomism and enthusiasm that they exude during a campaign. The realities of governing are different then the ideological intentions they might have. After hearing him speak a number of times, I must say that I have faith and confidence in Patrick at least trying his best to come through on his promisises.

When I first heard about the quote it was through CNN. At the time I was outraged, and considered his comments both arrogant and borish. Since I did vote for the guy, I thought id give him a second chance, however, and read the speech myself. He did say that it was taking out of context and that he was joking- i'll decide for myself-. So i looked up the transcript and read a paragraph before the quote that is illiciting outrage and came up with this "I didn't do well in school, and ended up in Vietman, do good in school or you can end up in Iraq" I admit I am biased when it comes to Kerry and the Democrats, but it sounds to me that he was in fact joking.

A good example of a some running for Governor, while seeking higher office, is Mitt Romney is Massachusetts. As a result, the people of Mass have suffered. In the last few months Romney has spent more time in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada, rather then serving the interests of the people who elected him. Be very careful if you are voting in Maryland, the fuck that O'Mally has presential aspirations may not be such a good thing.

Pelosi has outlines at least for things the Democrats would do if they should take back the house 1)implement more 9/11 comission recommendations
2) take care of medicare part D
3) replenish student loans
4)fund stem cell research

For all of those who consider the Democrats the party of no, a party that exists strictly to contridict the Bush Administration, take a closer look at the facts. Nancy Pelosi, the current Minority leader in the house of respresentatives has made a point, to would be committee charman like Charles Rangel, that investigations will happen, but not at the expense of a clear set of policy goals.
