Sonia what a lovely celebration Hawaiian style! Your table deciorations are stunning and the food presentation by all colorful and gorgeous. My mouth is watering! Glad the turkey ideas worked well for you! My 20 pound turkey stuffed cooked under 4 1/2 hours! That had to be frustrating to have the turkey take its sweet time like it did. It sure looked gorgeous when it was done though! What a feast it turned out to be with a group of good friends. A perfect way to count your blessings! Happy Thanksgiving my friend! Aloha!

Michelle your holiday baking sounds so good! Great sounding cookies. I love The Dollar Tree to pick up things like holiday tins, gift bags and boxes. You can;t beat the price! Would you share your recipe for Kiffles. I am not sure I know what they are. Your Maple-sugared pecans and almonds sound delicous too.

I love pumpkin and chocolate together. Lori do the chips fall to the bottom of the muffins since they are not coated in flour first? I was thinking of adding them to the dry ingredients and then adding the pumpkin mixture. These sound very good. Thanks for sharing it!

Debra Deviled eggs are big with my family for gatherings as well. I like to add prepared horseradish to mine.

I enjoyed your article and your recipe for cioppino. I was born in SF and raised in the bay area as well as being Italian. This was a favorite dish of my fathers. This is an intersting version with the seafood choosen. I look forward to trying it. Usially we also add Dungeness crab, calms and mussels as well as firm white fish. Yum! Yum! Your cioppino, some good crusty SF sour dough and a glass of good CA white wine and I will be in heaven. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

It may be an old one however I seemed to have missed it over the years. It sounds simple to prepare and the combination of ingredients and textures sound interesting. This sounds like it would be a fun recipe to make with kids. My daughter is getting married 2 weeks from today and her husband-to-be has a 6 year old son so I will become an instant grandma. When I first met him and trying to bond with him, I decided to bring him into my kitchen and have him help me bake. He loves it as much I as did. I think I will be making these with Justin this winter. Thanks!

Thank you Sonia. I wrote a lot of poetry from the late 60's to the early 80's. Then the eatery, catering service and other new interests started taking more and more of my time over the years. I still do not write that often even now. I have been setting up a new office/studio space and I came across all the old books of poetry I wrote in a box. I have been reading them again after all these years and decided to post some of them. I have rarely shared any of them with others. I guess it is time. Thanks for commenting.

This is tough since my mother was a very good and diverse cook. hmmmmm, maybe because I have been thinking about this lately but I will say her "Delicious Chicken" which had a sweet n sour sauce, onions, green peppers and pineaplle chunks served over hot, fluffy steamed rice.
