Sandy: I try to read your stuff when I can, but I don't always comment. Sometimes I think I'll come back when I have time to make a more thought out comment and then never get around to it. I keep saying that I will catch up on reading my connection's stuff, but realistically I'm not able to read everything. I have enjoyed your stories that I've read, and you are one of the people on Gather whose writing I seek out. Some of my other favorites are Birdie, Jackie L. and Wendy R.

This doesn't fit in Savvy Shoppers (shopping related content), but I agree that Global Test Market is a great company. I made around $130 with them last year and am already half way to the next payout level.

Good list. Volition.com has a ton of free listings too. While I've never paid for a list, I have used shadow shopper (I think it's shadowshopper.com) for finding out which companies are scheduling in my area.

Funny! I love the way you gave life to this urban legend and its characters.

I'm say urban legend, because a friend of my boyfriend told him that this happened to a friend of his girlfriend. I had a lot of questions about the plausibility of it, but his dad was immediately skeptical and looked it up on the internet. He found a lot of references to the story as an urban legend -- like this one.

My boyfriend and I probably would have continued believing it. I'm sure stranger things have happened, and I do wonder if something like this did happen once upon a time and the story has just been embellished on. The version I heard was a bit different that yours. The thief thought the suitcase contained computer equipment and just grabbed it from a baggage rack as he exited the subway, while the person was still seated.

If you publish an article to a public group, the public setting of the group puts the article in the list that goes out to everyone. At least thats how I interpreted the answer that I got when I posted a question a while back. I'll see if I can find the link.
