Verie, I am so glad you visited and brought this to us here. Seeing even photos of such a memorial on foreign soil is very moving.

I like your closing thought. It is a good reminder to grab the moment. When I think of workers who labor through the night, I can not help remember all the nurses and doctors who turn their worlds upside down and still give their best.

I was never happy working nights. In ICU I had no trouble staying awake and alert, but day time sleeping just didn't refresh me. In your case tough as it is on your body it might be good for your muse. :)

Aaron I very much enjoyed this read. No doubt you were wise to listen to your wife. I always attributed Alfred Hitchcock's greatness to his wife's cooking. When she said supper was ready..he stopped on a dime. :)
