I don't much care for Baroque, but can take it in small doses. I'd say the more music I listen to, the more I like Beethoven. I especially like piano concertos. I am not familiar with either O'Connor or Tan Dun.

Its nice to have a store in walking distance.
The opening of a Target with a grocery department has triggered a grocery price war in my town. Even so, the most economical place to shop requires driving.

Game meat tends to be dryer and tougher and farm raised beef.
Thats why people cook deer meat steaks in butter.
I recommend stew, chili or other slow cooking methods in liquids. I would NOT recommend burgers unless you add ingredients to tenderize the meat.

Hi libramoon.
I've read Asimov, Heinlien, Bradbury, Fredrick Pohl, Andre Norton, Philip Dick, Arthur C Clarke, Larry Niven, and a bunch I don't remember anymore.
I'm not really looking for recommendations, I am more interested in how vibrant (or not) the genre is.

There are a few of the 'old guard' authors that I have not read, or have only read part of their stuff.
I recently got an old (written in the 50's) Sci Fi book out of the library. For all the changes that have happened since it was written, it has held up well.

It just seems to me that the genre is dying, at least commercially.

I often buy on line, but I find it rather difficult and very unpleasant to SHOP on line. If I know a specific author or title I wanted, I would just get it.

If there is plenty of SF being written today, have you read any? Would you recommend any?

In my area. Walmart is cheaper than Dollar General, Family Dollar and Big Lots. I never go to the dollar stores anymore.

I usually make 2 or 3 stops when grocery shopping.
First is the Walmart for most thing, then the Jewel for the stuff that Walmart doesn't carry, then the butcher is I need meat.

Actually I find the boneheaded honesty of these applicants refreshing.

Since most applicants seem to have had the job search seminar and seen all the on line tips, applications have a numbing sameness.
Truly, I wish there was a way to tell who would be a good fit for a job. Applications and interviews don't do it.
