I'm with you on the first two, but on the last there is the issue of the rights of the human life being carried and not just the rights of the human life carrying it.

It isn't the doctors then, it is the slip and fall lawyers.  If we passed tort reform, then maybe this would stop.

Obama will say anything.  Congress writes the laws and Congress is full of socialized medicine supporters.  If the Congress passed a socialized medicine bill that affected everyone, Obama would sign it.  I oppose his proposal and any other government run medical program for any segment of the population or all of it.  Government's role is not to be a medical provider.

I also belong to the Odd Fellows, once the largest fraternal organization in the world, but now in serious decline - yet it is inclusive of both genders, my wife and I both belonging to our local lodge.  The two organizations are very different in that Freemasonry seeks to make the individual better so as to better serve at home, at work and in the community while Odd Fellowship seeks to make the community better by its charge to "visit the sick, relieve the distressed, bury the dead and educate the orphan".  Two different purposes yield two different memberships.  The Freemasons however do have branches that are inclusive of women, but their members is falling off.  My point is that there is a place even in the modern world for men's groups and women's groups as well as for groups for all people.

So you feel it is wrong for the Red Hat Ladies to exist as a group or for the Girl Scouts?  Why is it wrong for there to be a society for men?  Should we abolish the United Negro College Fund because it is for african americans?  Should we abolish the National Organization for Women because it only promotes women's issues?  Should we ban all religious institutions because they cater to their own faithful?

I use the modern political definition of liberal, not the classic definition of which modern political liberals have little to nothing in common with.

Yes.  While those programs done at a State or local level may provide necessary assistance - done at an impersonal level by the central government - they have a tendency to devalue a person and make them feel less empowered.  I wrote a second piece on just this issue and its effects on at least one small town which I posted this morning.
