I think that lady getting jail time is absolutely fine...she was doing something that was completely not needed while driving...If you need to text something just pull over or just wait till you get to your destination. It is not that much of an emergency to text while driving...if what you need to say is that important then just call the person. I agree with the jail time...who knows how long is justified for killing someone. I believe she feels terrible but she needs to know that she cant text while driving anymore. If you do something that is wrong you need to do the punishment. She did something wrong and she killed someone...do the time. Learn, live and move on...but dont forget the lesson. She is lucky she didnt get more time than 6 years. Hopefully this will sink in to others minds and they will stop texting and that in fact will save more lives.
