When it's all said and done, that's all that really important, isn't it? I mean when someone is on their deathbed, who is gonna say "I wish I'd spent more time making money"....not many, I'm sure

I know...... it can be hard to not have all our creature comforts with us, but if we ever HAD to live THAT simply, most people would probably find a way to cope with it.....

I'm not much of a sports fan either, but I just stumbled on this game on an independent tv station one Sunday, and was hooked from the start....incredible, esp for me! lol

Hi Selene,

I am a Christian, but please don't be put off by that, because I happen to agree with your discontent. For a lot of years, I heard all the arguements why Christians shouldn't associate with the non believer, but I never agreed with that mindset. How are people supposed to get saved if they don't associate with the rest of the world? It never made sense to me either. I always say the person who really is saved, stays saved, at least in my experience that's how its been. Anyway, while what that pastor was saying is bad, I think I have one that tops even that one. I went to a Christian singles group for awhile, and once there was a woman who came to speak and her topic was supposed to be why it was OK to be single, but her whole sermon was littered with apologies for not being married, expressions of embarassment for "still being single", and a lot of insulting and demeaning remarks about people who were single. And the best part? She was completely sincere in everything she was saying....she really thought she was helping people! A lot of people left shaking their heads wondering "What the blank was that?!"
I understand where you are coming from, and while sometimes the things some Christians say can be a little tough to take, but I know for a fact that Jesus is NOT like that, He really does love everyone, and once a person develops a relationship with Him, they'll experience how wonderful He really is, and will forever be changed by having known Him. Don't be discouraged, just keep looking for that right church......

True, we could survive, if need be, but it's a hard thing to leave all the creature comforts behind, and where there's a will, there's a way. But if a person really wants to get an idea of whether they could do it or not, they could take a long backpacking trip to see whether they would hold up.........
