I'm sure you're aware that Jadite was reproduced a few years ago and is often passed off as old Jadite... (as is new Fiestaware misrepresented as old)
I love the green you are referring to -so, it seems, is Martha Stewart who uses it as her signature color.

I love the graphic from that (late 50's?) greeting from Mr. and Mrs. John Somebody. It is the same kind of lithographic illustration that appeared on kitchen tablecloths from the time - of which I have a great fondness.

Yes, absolutely. I have to believe that some of the onlookers were taking pity on the poor man who dared to spill ice and was now being assaulted by an irate stranger.
A little patience and kindness indeed goes a very long way.

Avatar the Game was an inevitability. Action figures to follow, and glasses at McDonald's, perhaps.
Tomorrow is Christmas day. And while billions of others will be celebrating the birth of Christ, or their maxed out credit cards, I will be watching "Avatar" in I-Max and 3-D. I have heard professional voices say that "Avatar" heralds in a new technology for cinema. I have not heard anyone say its a wonderful story. I am expecting a lot of "ooh and ahh" and not much content. Still, I will spend $12 to see something amazing, because it sure isn't going to look spectacular when otherwise I would have to see on a regular DVD and on my 27" TV.

I heard this for the first time yesterday, while driving through my hometown on a frozen afternoon.
It is the first holiday season song I actually paid any attention to. I appreciate that it does not attempt to tell the listener what it is they should believe in merely that belief in something is the key. "Believe in what your heart is saying... Believe in what you feel inside."

When a grain (pasta, rice, bread, barley, etc) is mixed with a legume (beans, lentils, peas) you get a perfect protein that offers every bit as much protein goodness as meat.
Many cultures have survived on a staple of grains and legumes for eons.
Tonight, as a matter of fact, I had stuffed peppers. Although there was some meat in it, most of the protein from that dinner came in through the rice and beans I stuffed them with.
