The song is fun with a great rhythym - 'I saw her standing there.' My favorite line is the first one,'She was just seventeen...' The line is sung with great enthusiasm.

I agree with you, but what still shocks me is why the big three automakers flew private jets to Washington when they asked for a bailout. Maybe they're so into their ritzy lifestyles they never thought about how the planes would make them appear.
But don't they have savvy secretaries?

I lay in a hospital ward, silent, alone. There is nothing as anguishing as to feel all alone in the whole world...with no one... nothing... to reach out to, to place a steady hand on yours, a reminder that someone acknowledges your presence.
My eyes slowly scanned the large room and the six beds it contained. I saw a woman approach and begin talking to me. "Do you feel okay? You didn't eat breakfast. Are you sick?"

Her round peasant-like face and heavily accented voice pulled me to farm fields of the Ukraine. "I sorry, not speak good English."
I forced a smile, hoping no one else heard my growling stomach. "You speak very good English. I understand you perfectly." A broad smile enveloped her face; she felt pleased.

"Me? You understand me? But I can't speak English."
"You speak very good English. I know, me expert. I am English teacher." I had emphasized every word, so she would understand. And it worked! She hugged herself with excitement. This caused me to feel a sliver of connection and pleasure, to have been feeling so personally desolate and to have helped her feel good about herself.

" I kept this for you." She held a beautiful apple in her hand, small and green, rosy on top. It had been hand polished until it glistened.
When she placed it in my hand, humility washed over me. It was the most precious gift I have ever received. And I didn't even know her name.

Marilyn, you are NOT a racist. A few years ago, a black man was struttin' his stuff and singing at every party I attended. I disliked his demeanor, mannerisms, etc. and thought I must be anti- black people. When I confessed to a friend and asked the obvious question, she queried,"Would you like him if he were white?" My negative answer told the truth.

My first was an indoor cat who sometimes escaped. He would hide in bushes and the fleas that were there would jump into his fur. He would bring the fleas inside and some would choose the carpet instead of him. Once fleas are in your carpet, you have to 'flea bomb' the room or house. Additionally, each time I came home, when my skirt brushed bushes, fleas would climb aboard, ride into my house and take refuge in the carpet...until they could hop on my cat.

I canot wait to buy a hybrid car. The government and insurance companies s/b involved in tax and insurance credits to encourage their purchase.
