I remember this! I had just turned eight and I was conflicted: Side with the smartass tweety bird or with the sputtering puthycat? Hmmm. In the end I found myself putting them both in headlocks. They joined forces and they stole all my gifts. I survived but I'm still missing my toys and 13 chunks of coal.
I hate them mieces to pieces but I hope they have a warm and comfortable christmas because, come December 26th, all bets are off!

OK, G., I like to think I have a pretty good sense of humor but there's nothing funny about feeling sorry for the single most powerful person on Earth. It's no surprise, really. After all, we're too cowardly to side with the weak.

David, this is the point, my "opinion" doesn't even enter in. Thomas Friedman's opinion notwithstading, the point is evidence. I believe you're probably the brightest person I've ever encountered who actually gave Friedman the respect he never earned.

Better yet, rent the documentary film, "Manufacturing Consent." It doesn't focus on our favorite twerp, TF, but it puts all reasons for his and his ilk's positions and their popularity in honest context.

C'mon David. Thomas Friedman, it's well known, is a huckster. I'd rather offer sources where his nonsense has been taken for what it's worth and revealed than revisit the sources of his sorry apologetics. Just look for his name in the index of the following: Jeter, Jon: "Flat Broke in the Free Market," Hartmann, Thom: "Threshold" (some good clues here): Barskey, Robert: "The Chomsky Effect," and a whole wealth of books and articles not likely to appear on the NYT Best Seller list for obvious reasons.

Thank you for posting this. It's so true. We are up against lots of popular media smart enough to assume that "consumers of news" froth at the hope for an easy target. There is nothing more tasty than a target for finger. It's even a feast if we can pretend we are saved and you are damned. I used to giggle at cartoons but they never split my gut in guffaws the way these hateful tians do. They really turn me on dead man.

No argument, here, G. But it's next to impossible to "travail" if we are swooning over media images and nifty sound bites. Egg Shells? Somehow the pure contempt for "democracy" hidden in such phrases is lost. Apparently ego has a lot to do with it. Obama lovers are quite similar to Bush lovers in this sad tendency to refuse admitting being wrong. Deadly wrong in most cases.

Good question, Franklin. My educated guess is that, in large part, we're dealing with huge crowds of daddy's boys. These slut boys like to look and sound tough but, obviously, they are sissy boys and they are only acting tough in order to take attention away from the fact that they are daddy's pussies. That's all.

The fact that Obama is bought and sold is easy, after all, to accept. How else would he and his handlers get to here? How many other silver-tongued fakes could sell us in a dream? It should not surprise us. In fact it dosen't. What surprises us is our own inabiliaty to recognize the difference between David Cassidy and Keith Partrige. We will try not to mention to the Obama fans that their swooning did nothing but grease the rails for capital lies. It's a lot like a cartoon, the Obama moms. They lack all ability to stand because they sold themselves a long time ago. They displaced reality and replaced it with fantasy. Now, in the Bushites fashion, the Obama cheerleaders will deny, deny, deny.
