Good pic! The water table in the west ( Nevada, Utah...) is dropping by as much as 3 feet per year in the larger metropolitan areas. What goes to Vegas better bring it's own water!

I believe in global warming, what-ever the cause. To group all people who believe the earth is going through a change into one group, to me is short sighted, just as to call all those who don't believe, into one group.
If evidence to the contrary to what I believe is presented, I will listen. That is why I joined this group. I like to hear rational explanations from both sides, without name-calling. Unfortunately for both sides, there are those who blindly follow a particular topic without stepping back and reviewing the evidence. Take religion, for example, not everyone can be right!

I believe the earth is changing: how and why is clearly debatable. It is understandable for people to question global warming, for it was only 20 years ago we were warned of global cooling. The physical evidence in the world suggest that warming is now occurring, with or without scientist.

Follow the money... look at U.S. invasion of Iraq! How many TRILLION do we now owe the Chinese for this war? We could have free healthcare for the money spent in our pursuit of oil!

Agreed. The UN obviously is past it's prime, if it ever had one. The solution is with us all, consume less and buy local. (If you want an eye-opener, watch the documentary on Wal-Mart!)

As I believe the earth is going through changes (does it ever sit still?) I find it hard to decipher what is true and what isn't.
It very well may be that it isn't as drastic as some portray, but I believe we should still treat Mother Earth with respect and if we can develop clean energy, why not?

As a medical professional, I haven't seen or heard of any relationship between H1N1 and TB. Anytime someone has a compromised immune system (TB), they are much more susceptible to infection. It is unfortunate if the underlying disease state isn't mentioned, but look at the AIDS crisis in the 1980's in the U.S. To me, H1N1 has been blown way out proportion. Every year or two we have something new to fear: Ebola, Bird Flu... In the US alone, we lose nearly 24,000 people a year due to ibuprofen. 3,000 kids a DAY die in Africa from disease and malnutrition.

Was an extra, that got cut!, in the National Geographic special 'Dirty Bomb'. If you have no concern for human life, all too easy to be a terrorist. Our world will never be rid of them, though we can take precautions.
