On the way up the dogs saw ice for the first time. Godiva slipped and fell on it and just looked up at me with a scared puppy face - she wouldn't move and just had no idea what was going on, haha. When we arrived at my apartment, the backyard was covered with thick snow. The dogs had really no idea what to think! But they adjusted and they are really enjoying the warm weather now. My poor Florida dogs, haha. Unfortunately I was only able to bring 3 with me =( So 3 are back in Florida. I miss them so much!!

Thank you all for your kind words :) I called my vet first thing this morning to make sure I was doing all I could. The vet tech gave me a really cool tip, so I thought I would share it. Neosporin Plus has a numbing quality to it... so she advised me to rub some around the wound on Kaylee. I gave Kaylee low dose Aspirin (if you do this, please make sure you give the proper amount based on weight & never use Tylenol), however, this may be better. I'll pick up some when I leave work.

Thank you for this post, it really made me reflect on this issue. You are correct about how the dog fighting made a more emotional impact that those poor people in Gaza. I think the general population feels a disconnect with those countries - maybe it's because of confusion of what is going on there so instead of trying to understand, the channel gets changed to different news (I know that I only had 1 world history class growing up and I can't remember a thing from it). Those countries seem so distant to us, but dog fighting is more real. Maybe more education and bringing these forcing these issues out will help bring more of an impact. Terrorism did not become real to us until 9/11, when it came home to us. God forbid we ever get bombed like those in Gaza - I just hope that maybe more coverage and education will help release the compassion. I remember learning about the Holocaust, but it didn't become real until we went to an event with graphic photos, journals, and speakers there talking about what they had went through.

We really need to look at what we really do not want to see.

The company is required to reasonably accomodate you... but the trick is the word "reasonably." It's not well defined and arguable on how far they have to go. I agree with the post above that you do not want to put your job in jeopardy, especially with the economy the way that it is. That is a difficult situation. Maybe you can work something out with a coworker until the weather gets a little better.
