Wow! Well, I love PBS. Masterpiece Theater every Sunday night! :)

As for adaptations, I usually find something I like in all of them and have to add them to my collection.

I'm very torn over the Persuasion film adaptations. I enjoyed the Amanda Root/Ciaran Hinds version (1995) and it is truer to the book, but there is something very poignant in the Sally Hawkins/Rupert Penry-Jones version (2007). Much more emotional. I still watch them both. ;)

Just as an aside, since I am such a lover of British films and tv, I bought a multi-region DVD player and have been purchasing DVDs from Amazon UK. It's well worth it.

Great review, Lisa. You brought up some important issues with the book. I've actually had other readers (Janeites usually) who disparage Barron's Austen mysteries. I haven't read one yet. Probably wont. Loved your ending. ;)

Great review Lisa but this sounds like one I will avoid. Realism is good in a textbook but why is a JA spin off novel. Interesting topic though. Eliza's Daughter.
