We need to get rid of the red and blue mentality that keeps the country divided. Instead of saying its me against you we need to say lets get together and decide what is best for mall of us.

Matthew I deleted your post on third party candidates by mistake, please re post if your wish to, sorry for the cancellation.

Third party candidates need to be funded the same way if they can get enough sponsors to be placed on a ballot. All states do not place third party candidates on their ballots because they do not have the required amount of support.

And their is nothing in either health care bill that says that. FOX news and the GOP attack dogs do not write legislation and have no idea what is in the health care bills.

Matthew, what your saying is insurance hacks and big pharma have a right to play god with your well being.

Your right Jim and health care should not be tied to the stock market like common goods that you have a choice to buy or not but. Getting sick is not a condition you can control.

The ACLU was a good organization but started taking payoffs. I belonged to the ACLU for many years and dumped them when they took on the Limbaugh drug case.

You can't promote the welfare of the public by not supporting it, and that means with our tax money and laws that promote the public good and that is what government is about supporting the public welfare not the public supporting political wannabe dictators.

Marilyn I have been reading it now for 5 days and have only covered about 534 pages and that's probably more than any senator will read. When it passes it will go to the house and be amended voted on and sent back to the senate. Some of the things I have seen in the bill should be amended and some should be taken out but just denying that we need an affordable health care plan is nonsense and against the public good.

Welcome to the Dark Ages

When did modern science start? When did the Dark Ages end? According to the link above the Dark Ages ended in the Year 1000 but that hardly seems possible with the number of people that deny highly educated research findings on global warming and other serious problems that have been brought to the public attention through decades of research and discovery.

The Christian church denied the earth revolves around the sun, why? Education was almost non existent in the Dark Ages except for a few cherry picked nobles and it seems that many companies and politicians want to end any real education today. Have we really left the Dark Ages or are we still living there or are we just creating a set of circumstances that parallel the Dark Ages? The only reason I can see for the denial by politicians and business leaders is money and control, power over the masses, but what brings the average worker into the denial mode? Its detrimental for people to be breathing all the poison chemicals being spewed into the air by the denial class of big business and the deniers, the working public class is doing the suffering and visiting it on their children and all their future generations but why? Saying "I solved my problems let them solve theirs" is as self serving as a person could possibly be and it shows a lack of concern for their own children that are going to be the first to suffer the worst hazards of global warming yet they willingly send their own children to the slaughter.

Welfare as stated in the preamble to the constitution;

welfare n. 1. health, happiness, or prosperity; well-being. [

Welfare in today's context also means organized efforts on the part of public or private organizations to benefit the poor, or simply public assistance. This is not the meaning of the word as used in the Constitution.


So this unconstitutional nonsense is just garbage supported by a few politically correct followers.

I agree with what you are saying November Girl, Their is a way out of this corporate payoff system. We can demand our congress legislate to stop taking bribes and campaign funding from and company or private donation from the public and give our elected officials an equal and reasonable amount of our tax money to fund their campaigns after two have been nominated for election.

It sounds impossible but all it would take is for the public to stop playing politically correct and stand together on the issue. People have to stop looking at big campaign money as political experience.

Companies deny climate change because of monetary reasons, not good reasons but they have their own little world anyway, lobbyists deny because they make money off the denial myths but the public that denies climate change has nothing at all to gain but hardship so sometimes its hard to understand the denial.
