It looks like Taro plant, to me. If you're on a tropical island somewhere in the pacific, most likely it is. It's yummy, if you know how to cook the root, right. The leaves can get nearly as big as an adult. Where was this taken at? (also, images.google.com, type in "Taro Plant" =) They look similar to me.. !)

I haven't done a lot of research on solar power but the power company in my town is trying to go green, by wind power. ( I know solar is sun, and I dont know if this would be in the same category, but for sake of conversation.......) Their goal was to get 6% of our town on wind-power; they have 5.1% so far, end of this month is the deadline for the race. I think it's amazing what they can do, but much like anything else that's good for you, like healthfood, gyms, green-powered vehicles, etc, etc. no one can afford it. If people really cared about saving the planet, they'd make it so the average joe could afford it, since the majority of the world seems to be Average Joe's.

Steph-in-NE, I know sort of how you feel about your son. When I was dating my husband, he decided to join the army to better himself. It was hard. It was probably the hardest time of my life. I don't want to tell you this to bring you down, because you should be proud of your son for being so brave! I just want you to know, that even though My husband wasn't someone I had birthed, and lived with for 18 years, he's the only person other than family that I have ever truely loved. You're not alone in your loneliness or stress or sorrow, know that. Seek out support groups and always always write him. It wont be easy for him either. I wish your son the best of luck in his career!! I have a 6 month old daughter at home, who is trying to walk, and can already crawl faster than I can keep up with her. I can't imagine her leaving me. Best thing about it, though, is you always have your memories of him when he's gone, and will make amazing more memories when he's home for leave!! Hopefully he will be stationed somewhere close! <3
