That's beautiful. The Serenity poem is something that has been in my family for years. I remember my mother reciting several times when I was a teenager. Now that I have my own, I know why. My problem isn't in finding the courage to change the things I can, it's in having the serenity to accept the things I cannot.

I'm terrified of the empty-nest syndrome. My oldest is about to leave for the military, and the other one will be gone in about 3 years. I don't know how we're going to deal with it, but I hope I have the ability to look at life the way you do.

Awesome. Very vivid. I love the smell of an open campfire as the aromas of different woods mingle together. I'd love to experience the odors of the leaves. Great piece.

I so feel for you. I'd be lost without my flower beds. I need to weed out my lilies also, wish I had red ones, only orange ones. Also have quite a bit of peppermint. Never heard of chocolate mint, will be looking for some of that. :)

LOL, I totally understand. This is a great freewrite. It's apparent that these are your true thoughts, flowing from mind to page. The best part is that it also a piece that makes others stop and think. :)

Nice piece, Ruthie. It is a very wise decision to get information on your own, rather than just takes someone else's word for it. Mass hysteria can do some silly things. I'm not a politically minded person, but I remember watching certain Presidential programs while in school.
I'm impressed, honey.
