Doesn't matter where it came from - it's still a lousy way to run a state. This was a voluntary arrangement agreeable to all involved. It's like the difference between a hippie commune and full-scale state communism.

Yeah I guess...people cheat and get caught for it all the time, and it doesn't make news. This whole fascination with celebrity gossip is just bewildering to me.

Even if you are right, I really don't believe that's why we are there. I think 9/11 is a perfectly good reason without having to go look for some hidden "conspiracy theory" motive.

You have to have SOME government, but the less the better. I prefer the kind of government laid down in our Constitution; sadly, we haven't had that kind of government for 75+ years.

This isn't news - the stock market is always a leading indicator of the broader economy. The stock market went down before the job losses got going, it is going back up before the economy hits bottom. It's like that in EVERY recession. WRITE IT DOWN.

If anything, you should be happy the stock market is up, it means the recovery is well on its way - most economists think we'll have solid growth by Q4 at the latest.

I live in the 2nd reality - my wife and I have both lost our jobs, so we've really felt the sting of this recession more than any before. My wife was at her job 10 years. So yeah, we're in the second reality - except that we see the separation you're trying to make as artificial, because it is.
