That's a real nice thought. Reminds me of the song "Imagine" from John Lennnon.

Imagine if Senator McCain was an African-American and Senator Obama was the white Senator. It wouldn't even be close,would it?

Unfortunately our nation is run by political parties. And it has been the Republican Party that has ruled in lock-step fashion and has pushed deregulation, abused the Constitution with suspension of Habeas Corpus, initiated torture, pushed tax-cuts while raising spending to give our nation a massive deficit, pushed the Iraq War when there was no evidence for WMD's and was asleep at the wheel on 9/11, having failed us by ignoring the Presidential Memo from the CIA about "Osama Bin Laden intends to attack America".

So no, I shall not be ignoring who is a Democrat and who is a Republican.

So sorry.

You guys have really messed up.

And I shall be voting Democrat up and down the ticket.

Just like I would urge all of my fellow Americans.

We have had enough of all of the hate from the right, the smears and the distortions. We have had enough of fear-mongering and greed from those that don't believe that paying taxes is a patriotic act. We have had enough of the intolerance and the bigotry.

We have had enough of Republican spin to last quite awhile.

So sorry.

Please continue to monitor Senator Obama's close ties as you say to a Professor at the University of Illinois who specializes in Education.

Don't bother to watch the stock market that plunged 18% last week alone. It might frighten you.

Don't bother to think about the fact that Palin is next in line under a 72 year old Senator who has recurrent melanoma.

After all she understands foreign policy, she has seen Russia from Alaska.

That might disturb your sense of well-being.

Keep listening to the hate and the dogma coming out of Hannity. Don't think about the fact that lobbyists are running John McCain Campaign. Lobbyists like Rick Davis who was taking thousands of dollars from Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae UNTIL LAST MONTH to get access to McCain.

So keep up with the slime. Don't pay attention to the real stuff that's going down all around you.

I hope you are independently wealthy and don't need a job because one heck of a recession/depression is on the way.

The McCain campaign is all about Rick Davis and Karl Rove. John McCain, although appearing to have had about enough of the hostile crowds, continues to feed them red meat in his ads and website. He is out of the loop and a figurehead for the campaign.

Maybe he shall take back the tiller as he likes to say. But I doubt it.

Thanks for commenting! What is important from my perspective that each individual investor has a strategy for entering and exiting an investment. Often the strategy doesn't matter as much as the implementation and reasoning behind it. Exiting a stock when the technicals have changed is a very reasonable approach. Other people may wish to exit when the valuation becomes unreasonable, fundamentals have changed, or some other approach to stock ownership.

Please just WATCH the Couric interviews and honestly ask youself whether Palin is qualified to be elected to higher office. You can spin all you want, but unless Palin does a better job tomorrow, which is quite possible, she represents the most phenomenally underqualified individual to be nominated to the Vice-Presidency.

No big deal. Just that McCain is 72, making him the potentially oldest President ever, and has recurrent Melanoma.

Dear Rob,

Interesting post. I do believe it is time that Americans learned to respect their leaders. To trust their judgement, their honesty, their love of America and their desire to accomplish great things as leaders of this nation.

There is nothing wrong with feeling inspired with a leader like Obama. It is a good and different thing. We have had eight years with a President 'you could drink a beer with'. And it was a flop.

I did find this on the NAACP's tax exempt status:

"Nearly two years after a controversial decision to investigate the NAACP for criticizing President Bush during the 2004 presidential campaign, the Internal Revenue Service has ruled that the remarks did not violate the group's tax-exempt status.

In a letter released yesterday by the NAACP, the IRS said the group, the nation's oldest and largest civil rights organization, "continued to qualify" as tax-exempt."

That's about all I have found thus far and it doesn't support your contention.

Thanks. I believe that all people of religious background should be motivated to become involved in politics to help their fellow men and women. Indeed we should all be our 'brother's keeper'.

The great strength of the Democratic party is to understand the need to address the problems of every American. To reach out half-way with assistance to get someone standing up for his or herself. To create opportunity. To protect the consumer. To make sure that our food is safe, our investments are secure, our nation is well-defended, our children are educated, and that our people are healthy, and safe in their lives.

But I do not believe that any particular endorsement should be done from the pulpit. That stretches the concept of separation way too far.

Obama has so much to offer America! America has been facing a financial crisis for some time now. In fact the origins of our crisis date back to the time of the Keating 5 when John McCain himself was the subject of investigation.

Senator Barack Obama is intelligent, educated, surrounds himself with learned individuals from Alan Greenspan to Robert Reich, and is steady at the helm.

Perhaps it has nothing to do with Palin. I was only speculating to be sure. I do know they had been talking about moving the Presidential debate to St. Louis on the same date as the Vice-Presidential debate had been scheduled. It only seems reasonable to think they might want to defer the Vice-Presidential debate at the same time.

But I was only guessing.

Then again, Obama has never said "screw the American people" has he? He merely pointed out that the American people needed to hear from the two people vying to be President. McCain wasn't really needed in Washington. I think that is obvious.

I do believe the debate will go on anyhow. We now have a more or less agreement and that gives McCain the opportunity to return to Mississippi and keep his head high and say 'told you so.'

Everyone wins I guess.
