Definitely worthnoting, Don--and I did: "Still, the Fox News Channel recently ranked fourth overall in primetime cable ratings, averaging 1.89 million total viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. Fox News, which had regularly been placing second behind USA, has now ranked in the top five cable networks for 20 straight weeks, and its cable news competitors still trail by a wide margin — MSNBC placed 24th in primetime with an average of 747,000 total viewers, while CNN placed 28th with an average of 651,000 total viewers."

Well, it wasn't a mistake, Tom--it was a deliberate attempt to obfuscate a factual error that is embarrassing to the magazine and its principals. Newsweeklies aren't supposed to lie about the news, and branding an incomplete transcript as "full and complete" as a way of hiding the facts isn't a generally accepted best journalistic practice.

Micky D -- Imus is NOT a liberal, but a serial racist. Anne G -- it wasn't a guest who 'started the commentary' calling young Rutger student-athletes whores -- it was his producer. Mario -- as I wrote, Al Sharpton has his own troubled history of racism and redemption -- but there is no doubt that he is embraced by a large percentage of the black community --particularly here in New York.

Good questions all, Astro. The NewsTrust team has similar fears about malicious people attempting to "game ths system." The best answer I can give you is that we'll have to rely in some respects on the community to police itself. Regarding the reviewers, however, one cool aspect of NewsTrust is that the reviewers get reviewed and rated just as the articles do--so an insincere or partisan reviewer will be rated lower than a good one, and the review will be given less weight as a result.
