I have always like to call the people you refer to as "front row Christians". They sit in the front pew every Sunday, to make sure they are seen, but don't act like Christians the rest of the week. Well said, Joe.

Sheryl, you make some really excellent points! (and thanks for referencing my article). You are right, we have completely "swallowed" in more ways than one, to better living through chemistry. My generation has been brought up to believe a pill will fix everything. As you suggested, we need to change that thought process. Part of it may be out of necessity, not only because of cost but of cost to our health.

Good point, George. Justice Sotomayor is in favor of bringing that concept to the courts. She thinks they should not be treated as persons. Hopefully that will change sometime soon.....but of course, I'm not holding my breath.

Isn't it interesting that home insurance and care insurance are required by law, and there is plenty of competition in those areas, but not health car. Apparently, things are much more important that people.

Since almost everything that "she" wrote in the book is already being refuted by everyone in the McCain campaign, it sounds like a work of fiction. I'm wondering how long it will take before somebody sues her.
Don't forget, when it says "on best seller list" notice the little sword by it that means bulk sales. You gotta know that every far right wing group is buying them in bulk and handing them out for free at their tea bag parties and rallies.

Whoa! That's an interesting idea! What angers me, is that these anti-abortion folks want these children to be born and then don't care what happens to them. They wash their hands of the problem of poverty, incest and disease, as if theses problems and unwanted pregnancy and abortion are mutually exclusive. If they are going to insist that all be born, then they should also insist that all get health care, including those born with severe mental and physical problems. If you are going to require one, then you need to require the other also.

Also, good call on the movie "Precious...." A very good time for this movie to come out with all the health care issues at stake.

Oh, gosh, I am such a creature of habit, and when my routine gets mixed up my feathers get a bit ruffled.
