Thank you so much for your comments. I felt it was a subject that most of gatherers could relate to. It is more rambling thoughts than a poem in fine form, but if it enourages a comment, a smile or a nod of familiarity, I consider it worthy.

Such wise words! I've had 2 abnormal mammograms and 2 indecisive ultrasounds. The inconclusive results have me, at age 46, pondering if tiny cancer cells are trying to malign my left breast. I go once more in Decemher as they are checking every 6 months. My only consolation will be if they find the mutations early enough. Be checked regularly!

I would love to look out of this window every single day -- such joyful colors and a pretty world. It is attainable. We just have to not forget to remember.

It is a beautiful book filled with old practices and philosophies that speak to our generation as well. As Donna graciously put it: This is a philosophy that all of us, as stewards of the planet we live on, should respect. Thank you very much for your comments. We can look to the past and find answers for the future.

My husband and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary in April. There is something to be said for enduring. The things we find the most important in our life are friendships. He's mine, I'm his and we both have a strong network of best friends, so-so friends, fair-weather friends and acquaintance type friends. But all of them are precious to us. We weed our garden of friends, plucking out the ones who emit negativity, fear and misery every single day of their lives. Life is too short. We choose to walk in sunshine. If our friends want to follow us there, that's great and we can have an awesome time. If they don't, we keep walking, strong and happy, embracing each day as a gift.

Thank you Kerrell and Tracy! Sometimes it is difficult to forgive ourselves for things that have happened in the past(especially trauma events) and move on in life. Life can be a joyful place if we follow the 'piper' within us instead of staying stuck in a rut of pain, fear and rejection. It will not affect us Americans at all. The Iraqi people will suffer. Their economy will plunge because our engineers and soldiers provide income. Oppression will win. We do not know if Iraq has weapons of mass destruction. They don't have nuclear reactors but they are friends with Syria who seems to be an unproven but highly suspect accomplice in threatening international security.
