Thanks for posting a link to that scene - those guys were hot!! Woooo!!!

I highly doubt the slowdown in Ford sales has anything to do with the homosexual kissing scene. The number of people who would actually know about that is small. We've got other issues with our economy and higher gas prices causing people to look towards more fuel-efficient cars, which Ford sucks at compared to Toyota.

Thanks for writing this, Bonnie, because SOME people think that because I don't have a disabled child myself, I don't have the RIGHT to be upset or sickened over the Ashley treatment.

I just wrote this on Mike's article: "It opens up a whole can of worms beyond this one case into eugenics and other Nazi-like treatment of children."

I agree with that.

BTW, a lot of people believe that ADHD is caused by sugar in the diet, environmental toxins, and possibly heavy metal toxicity. I don't know if you have tried to work with his diet but you might consider exploring these issues.

Not true, David. I was not a pretty girl in high school. The only thing I had going for me was my brains and I thrived on getting my OWN ego stroked with being on the Honor Roll etc.

In fact, it is because I have such good associations with achieving things that I base my sense of pride now on what I do and how much I contribute, and not how pretty I am (like some other women). I think there is a definite value to getting a gold star.

Why is everyone harping on standardized tests here? YOU DO NOT GET ON THE HONOR ROLL FOR TAKING A STANDARDIZED TEST!

You get on the Honor Roll for getting GOOD GRADES. That is what the Honor Roll means!

What a stupid decision to eliminate the honor roll. If the kids think that there's "stress" associated with getting good grades, then just wait until they get out into the real world and deal with the stress of having to compete for jobs.

Why are we coddling kids so much these days? This is ridiculous.

Kids with "special needs" should not set the bar for the rest of the student body either.

Ayuveda is not a treatment so much as a philosophy of health. Deepak Chopra teaches Ayurveda. It is an Indian tradition. Each person is told to have a dominant "dosha" or body type. Depending on your body type you will eat certain foods and engage in certain health rituals to maintain optimal health.

Ayurveda is a lot about daily habits. One of the habits Ayurveda encourages is a daily oil massage. There are other non-Western routines, such as rinsing your nose out with salt water.

Ayurveda is thus more of a constant lifestyle than just a single treatment.

The cat can be very snuggly when she is sitting on your lap, but she does not like to be picked up. I was amazed I was able to get any shot in with her at all.

And yes, I do realize that guys don't find multiple cats to be an attractive trait. My thing is I don't want to get more cats because when I do end up moving in with a guy, and he has a pet of his own, it's going to be more than enough petwise.

My question is: WHY IS *ANYONE* COMING TO GATHER TO LOOK FOR "GOOD" WRITING?

I don't go out and "look for" good writing. When I want to find something to read, I go to a bookstore and buy a book. Others buy magazines. "Good writing" is found everywhere in professional publishing. If you are coming here for "good writing" you maybe need to sit back and ask why would you even want to look here in the first place.

If you want "good writing" then go buy the New Yorker or something.

Gather is for people of all writing skills to express themselves. That's it. I just don't see what the big deal is or why expectations are so ridiculously high.

My Venezualan friend just told me that in Venezuela, they do not put the baby Jesus into the nativity until midnight on Christmas Eve, to signify that Jesus was born. Also, they celebrate on Christmas Eve and not Christmas Day itself.
