My own " peeve " with this phenomenon is " The Nightmare Before Christmas ", not ONLY does the star have NOTHING to do with christmas, he is actually supposedly a halloween icon, tho I had never heard of him til this movie.

Which leads to my own " gripe " in the culture which is the way that ALL HOLIDAYS are bledning together and therefore diluting in special charm.

WREATHS Used to be for X-mas, and now there are easter wreaths, and light displays at peoples homes almost as elaborate for Easter, Halloween and St. Pats day etc etc as for the Yule season.

ALL you have to do is peruse an " Oriental Trading Company " catalog a few months in a year to see the generic over melding of the traditions of each distinct holiday.

Was it started by hallmark to sell more cards ? ? ? Was the original sin a Hannakah Bush ? ? Who Knws, but it must be stopped ! ! !

To ME those songs have EVERYTHING to do with christmas, because the core of christmas is enjoying your loved ones and celebrating life in the midst of the dark, cold months of a stereotypical wintertime. ( ALSO, the sleig rides were, in the past times, a hunt for the christmas tree out in the timber )

I am biased tho, becasue as an agnostic, BUT a X-mas hearted guy, I have a hard time finding enough carols to play and sing that are non-christian tradition related, as well as having a fun beat.

As a contribution to your list, I have always wondered WHY ? ? ? " My FaVORITE Things " from the sound of music, has een recorded as christmas ? ? ?

Oh, I totally agree. My arthritis causes a typo here and there, BUT mistakes of this ignorance type also appear in speech, where typos don't flourish.

Sometimes I think that if one more person on " Maury Povich" or some such show, says they " axed " someone, I am going to implode.

AND, every last time that our president, the leader and commander in chief, most powerful single man in the world, warns of " nucular " situations, I scream and rant.

If ANYONE has had the chances for a proper education it is him, and yet he now wants our nation to embrace " nucular " energy.

I have never been sure what to believe BUT have always held that an atheist with a good heart MUST have a better hereafter, than a thoughtless, uncaring, christian poser.

I think I misstated my opinion above.

The man who would stay with one woman while leading her on and never actually telling her the truth while being involved with his TOW is not an idiot.

A more accurate insult would be selfish, inconsiderate, ass.

and actually, my female friend here says that its the woman who accepts " no marriage ever " BUT still plays house and lets her heart be abused who is more of the idiot in this ( GOD I hope ) fictional piece.

We use Pyrex from target , BUT anyone who pays extra for the water added to the large bottles isn't sensible.

Part of our environment problem is silly stuff like that.

We use all concentrated formulas for dishwasher, clothes, softener etc etc

OH and BTW we use the prickly rubber balls for softener and it works fine without chemical assistance.

I understand this totally. I have always gotten along better with girls 5 - 15 yrs younger and can rarely stand women my own age.

I am also watching time go by while staying 25 eternally.

I just hope that MY Katie shows up soon and lasts.
