I don't think I say, "Long live the Boomer era," but I would certainly shout, "Long live the boomer thinking." As a college student in the 60's, I saw about a 20-year period that began in the 50's as a time of massive change. People were certainly as resistant to change then as they are now. It took a generation of young people to effect that change, and I hope we see today's generation do the same thing.

We look at the news and see stories of corporate greed, collusion, ponzi investment scams, corporate secrecy about their use of taxpayer-supplied funds, etc., etc. Today's "establishment" needs to be challenged seriously in order to effect change. I can still hear my fellow students chant, "Down with the establishment."

It is that which has become "established as the norm" that must be changed, and I wish all sorts of luck to you young people. You can do it. And this ol' man will support you as hard as I can.

It's not just Texas. In a recent discussion with my barber, she asked, "Doesn't Obama's religion bother you?" I looked up and asked, "Christianity?"

"No, he's a Muslim," she responded. When I finished the ensuing lecture my wife said,"Obama would have been proud of you."

That's Arkansas, yeah -- well, right next door to Texas. And just as politically stupid!

You failed to mention that MySpace does have parental controls that can be utilized and the profiles can be set to private and that there is a setting that requires people to know your last name or email address in order to become your friend and see anything about you.

Actually, MySpace is one of the better social networking sites when it comes to protecting your privacy.
