Michigan is. More and more people keep getting laid off that we know. My husband was unemployed for 3 1/2 months, but he was lucky enough to find a new job in the area just recently.

I've been going to the drugstores - CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreen's - to take advantage of their rebate programs and get most of our personal hygiene products for free or almost free! It adds up to a lot of savings over a few months.

Oh my goodness! I'm glad your son was able to stand up for himself and his sister. Unfortunately, there are people like that out there, but you know that he'll be able to take care of himself and his sister.

How many weeks do you have before the 5K? Running 3/4 of a mile is a pretty good start. I don't think I could do that right now :) Having the frozen veggies on hand is a good idea. My problem is then I microwave them and forget I had them in the microwave! A few days ago, I opened my microwave to put in oatmeal, and there were the green beans from last night! I really hope Caleb starts sleeping better soon! :)

Wow! Your family is doing really awesome! Where is your 15 year old going to college at? One thing he could try for is the National Merit Scholarship - if you do really well on the PSATs, you're considered a National Merit Scholar and a lot of schools will offer you a free ride.

We make sure our kids go outside whenever possible, to the park or just for a walk or to play in the backyard. We also limit TV time. But our kids are still young and naturally very active.
