Great article that sheds light on information many people had no idea actually exists. However it's possible your cell phone number is listed at the Cell Phone Registry, but good news is that people have to pay to lookup someone's cell phone number with this cell phone directory.

There are actually quite a few places to reverse lookup cell phone numbers but unfortunately many of them are outdated or just give false information and trick you to click on ads. Cell Reverse Search is a good one, but The National Registry of Cellular Phone Numbers is probably the largest cell phone number directory.

A lot of companies that collect information about you also sell and trade your information to marketing companies. You may want to look over the privacy policy for a website before you give out your real name and address. You can always mark unwelcomed mail "return to sender". Seeing all that paper goes to waste can be a bit disconcerting at times.

Hi Richard thanks for the tip, however you phone company can provide you with public information found in any phone book. They do not have access to reverse cellular phone records. And cell phone companies do no give out this information. A private data research group is your only option to find out who owns a cell phone number other than calling it directly, like Katie said.

However simply calling the phone number when researching or verifying information just doesn't work. For example, someone used cell reverse search to lookup information about a local contractor and found out he had been using a fake name and since this cell reverse search site also provide court records lookup, he was able to lookup criminal history on the contractor which included fraud and grand larceny.
