Thanks for bringing back memories from my past! My step-mom made it like this and it was a "family" tradition that SHE make it! I lost her recipe for a long time after her death, but you gave it back to me! Thank You so much! I have special mamories of watching her make it. Yes, I loved my step-mom; she was "Momma" from the time I was 18 months old. (RIP Momma.)

I agree with Bruce on all accounts...I personally do not like the green or black, but a pretty purple turns me on! LOL! BTW...there ARE a LOT of us women left! We may be "old fashioned", but we ARE around!

I have read all parts, and found myself "living" these scenes as you wrote. You do have a Special way of writing, and I have enjoyed your writings. You know how to touch my soul.
I lost my Precious Daddy in 2000 from a massive stroke; the last 4 days I stayed by his side, and lived my life over, speaking all that had happened to me, to him. I felt he heard me, and understood how deeply I Love him. He was my Mentor, my Guide, my Prayer partner.

I agree with Christin: Beautiful, mysterious, complex photo -- The bathing in light reminded me of the "Scent"-- And your reflection, Mandi, reveals how Beryl's book is a reflection of every woman's inner image.
I am enjoying all you write, Mandi. Keep up the good work. I'll get around to doing my own, soon. Too many obsticles right now. Pain, deaths, etc.

Wow, Basil! What an ending!
And, you write in such a fashion, it feels like I am there with them! Gosh, I could almost feel the shots as they made contact...I could feel the blast as it happened! The jolt is tremendous as it hit...I could almost feel it, too!
This is truly a well written book! I enjoyed it. Keep up your good work!

My Mother was Cherokee, as were her parents. Daddy was Cherokee/Irish.
Grandfather and Grandmother named me before I was born. Mother went to visit Grandmother and Grandfather for a week-end; Grandmother told her..."The baby is a girl, and her name is Lone Eagle." Mother told her she was NOT prego...but, seven months later, I arrived. That was November 19,1949 @ 11:49PM. Grandfather held me up to the sky and did the naming ceremony the night I was brought home from the hospital.

In 1997, the Chief and Medicine man of the Deer Clan had a naming ceremony, and I was renamed "Lone Eagle Spirit". Chief also said I was "The chosen One"...whatever that means.

I was raised as a paleface. ((No pun or demeaning meant to anyone.))

That is how I was named. I am Proud and Honored to be a Native American, eventhough I was not raised as, or taught, the Native ways or Life. I am just now trying to "find myself".
