Micky, you aren't listening to my words. only my attitude.
It is true I think it's important that we stay focused on some kind of standard rather then the animalistic rage that wants to develop ... I still want them killed. What more could you want from me.
I belong to God who says to pray for our enemies. I don't apologise for that. I understand why He requests it. He doesn't want my heart full of hatred and anger. But also, I doubt these 5 fit the bill, but humans don't really know ... some people, in their heart are very different than what their actions might indicate to other humans. God said He is the only one that knows their heart. So if they, in truth, call out to God ... to submit to Him and want him, He will forgive them just as he has forgiven me for all my secret vileness and give him a new life. Even then, the guilty should still receive the death penalty. Our part is to judge the outward appearances and actions ... God's is to judge the heart.
Maybe I was wrong to point you out ... I'm sorry because I know you want to do what you think is right. But It SOUNDED like you were letting anger make your decisions & I thought they were reading that into the intention of all of us.
I am being as honest as possible with you. Speaking out of anger instead of using speech to logically gather the facts and determine the ethical way of handling a situation can cause people to misunderstand your motive.
Saying all that ... I don't want you to drop out of our discussions. I've gotten stepped on in Gather a lot and learned from it and .... hmmmmm I still keep getting stepped on in Gather :):) I had to apologise to Gerogiana a couple of days ago. Ha ha. Change is hard....but I think you're my friend and you're stuck with me. Or at least, if you aren't I'm going to go request friendship right away. I stick like glue.
Sorry I posted this so many times but I just came back and reread and my spelling errors were atrocious :)

How exciting. I'm on my way.
Well first, a word of explanation (making excuses :) I have a Mom who, on the way back from him surgery had a crises. She was whistling in and out real shrill on the cart coming down from the recovery room. I never imagined what a bell toll that was for my life :) She was in a hyper frenzied panic attack that lasted over a month. They finally sent her to a psych ward at 93 & THEY FIXED HER. Yaa. But I've been up there a lot.
I have a brain damaged sister that is a cracker and a half! She is a handfull and they've put her out of her apt. & I have to find another asap.
Anyway, I keep having these wonderful plans to read and index these articles and more but by the time I get home my mind doesn't work.

Thanks so much for all you've done to help us. I will get on the ball some place down the road :)

This is the site I use. I didn't vote for President Obama but the majority did and he is now my President. This is a Christian site that doesn't opine or judge. Just lifts the President, Congress and Senate and those in the services up in prayer. Doctrine isn't important.
They list the Presidents itinerary and any special needs. It helps me be faithful in prayer. It is so easy to assume your own prayers don't count ... but for some reason far above what I can understand ... God says He hears and responds.

Hi Norman ... way up there :) Sorry I hand't noticed I didn't respond to you.
I see you feel strongly :) I'm leery of criminal court also. But give these guys a chance. They want to do it legally but they do want them judged.
I listed the sites found by some down toward the bottom. I've read thru them quickly but want to spend real time with them & others tomorrow.

Help us figure out what the law says so we can settle it in our own minds.
Our 'wants' aren't good enough.

Hi Charles. Feel free to provide sites that carry good think tanks or better yet ... explanation of the laws that apply to this situation.

Aniko ... it never occured to me they would be without rights period. I have to wait till I've gotten hold of some of this & will try again tomorrow to catalogue some of these articles so I can take them in. Our idea was 'which' not 'whether.' I can't imagine a situation where that would exist. If that were a possibility ... how could it be?

Now I have to leave to see my Mom in the hospital and won't be back till 8:30. I'm geared up for studying when I get home :) We'll see how long the ambition lasts :)

I know Micky. The agony they cause is indescribable.
But here's the difference ... if we allow our attitude to go to the level of our feelings, we become more and more susceptible to lowering our standard of integrity.
I know what is in your heart. But somehow, we have to make ourselves take the high road.
Create laws. Create defense, jails, courts, security, spying technologies & do everything we can to catch them; try them; (my preference is military court right now) and prosecute them. I'm not at all hesitant to give them the death penalty.
I guess I want you to stand a head taller than them in declaring whatever we do we'll do it with integrity.

Maybe I shouldn't even bring this up but I will :) I certainly believe in an afterlife. I really do pray for the enemy that God will make Himself known to them and they might repent and recieve Christ for savior. I pray that about most criminals that slide across my TV screen. But as far as the death penalty, I do not hesitate to use it when warranted.
I may feel the same as you I just try to focus on justice because otherwise my heart would fill with hate. I don't want that.

But you guys ... most of us feel that way. There are a couple who are after blood but not the rest of us.
micky ... you're getting us all in trouble!
There's always a couple of mickies (Sorry mickie ... but you know ... I tried to soften you) writing on every article.
Just because we differ on the venue we want to use to judge them doesn't mean we're dropping down to a lower ethical level. I think it is just the opposite. All of us that are gathering articles are looking for the law so we can rightly apply the rules. Who has been vindictive? Which comment?

There is debate on what is the right jurisdiction to try the guilt of these people. In that, lots of questions have come up.
The definition of Unlawful and lawful enemy combatant .
& then the involvement of inter national law on and on :)
The majority of the people on both sides just want it done fairly. That's forcing us to do lots of reading on laws pertaining to the whole range of possibilities.
I'm learning a lot. It gets messed up in my mind because there's too much. I'm hoping this evening to actually go through the links again and get some form on paper. I tend toward Military ... but if that's wrong according to law I will change.

And I did know ... :) With my own eyes and body I knew that He came into me. I’m not offering that as proof to you ... you cannot know what I experienced.
I say it to let you know that although you think it neccessary for me to turn from this God and His word and listen to you, I cannot. I know you are not the voice of the true God although you mean well; neither does what you say come from Him. I have chosen to listen to Him only. I know that the Bible is His Word as well as the Spirit within His children.

Marinela, thank you for sharing about your friend and he sister. I was so happy to think of your receiving that message from her sister. I read you first article also but didn't find a link to her sisters picture. Is that available or not? Now that I've heard so much about her I would love to see her.

I don't look at it that way. Everytime something happens I think people are too quick to want to blame the good guys. When someone dies they often complain about the way the hospital took care of them; someone falls, it's somebody elses fault. The house burns down it's the fireman's fault.
Of course we can learn from all of these things & make needed corrections. They tried to put better security in right away. But people are people ... we don't live at our maximum 8 hrs a day. Hopefully we've improved but I don't blame the policeman; the airports; the firemen or their Moms and Dads. I blame the terrrorists.
