This is my official announcement:

It is my intention to thumb for the office of President of the United States.

For some of you that may take this announcement as a joke, I want to disabuse you of that notion. I'm as serious as a heart attack. You did not read this incorrectly. I have to thumb, not run, not fly, not bus and not walk because Enron, George Bush and the Republican Congress have left me with no resources to do otherwise.

I have no political experience. I have never held a public office. I am not a lawyer.

I consider these to be my strengths.

Given the records of many of the announced candidates, I know that the bar is so low that I can't do any worse. As I "thumb" across the country, I want to hear what our people are thinking. What are their greatest concerns? Their hopes and dreams? I want honest dialogue! I certainly know that my campaign can do far less harm to our citizens than the catastrophic performance of the current Bush administration .

More importantly I think its time for a government "of the people and for the people." I qualify on both counts.

To those who would support me I want you to know certain critical facts:

I have smoked dope and I inhaled. (not in many years)
I once snorted cocaine, liked it, but it was too expensive to use habitually. ((not in many years)
I have been married several times because I am a serial polygamist.
I was once arrested for grand larceny but the charges were dropped when the truth was known. (Punishment for dating a lovely black woman)
When I was 15, I was put on probation for taking my mother's car on a joy ride and then wrecking it.
My opinions have pissed off almost everybody who has any authority.
I am a Buddhist, Muslim, Christian, Jew, Unitarian, Shinto, Morman, Wiccan, Pagan, Gnostic, Sun worshiper, Agnostic and Atheist. (I love all great wisdom)
I revere and have studied Thomas Jefferson and would be delighted to read the Quran with him. If he were alive I would consider being his lover.
I am not interested in other people's sexual preferences and I abhor people that do.
I would have multiple affairs but I'm too old and fat to be attractive to anyone but my wife. She learned to love me before I got fat. That, however, is wearing thin.
I believe in America First.
I would close our borders and deport anyone who crossed them illegally. I would hand them an application for a visa on their way out.
I don't know what "politically correct" means. Actually I think it is a contradiction of terms or a way of not saying what you really think.
I believe that even a president deserves an occasional blow job. I hope they would clever enough to not get caught. (With their pants down - so to speak)
I want to repeal the 17th amendment.
I would prosecute George Bush for any crime that applies, which includes war crimes, illegal wire-tapping, contempt, lying to congress and pathological stupidity. I know there is no crime in stupidity but in his case there should be. If convicted I would ask that he be sentenced to being a cheerleader for the Berkely Boggle squad until he is 80. He would have to spend week-ends, out of the view of media, helping to clear trash in New Orleans.
I believe that Harry Truman may have been the last honest man in Washington D.C. However that honor could well apply to Senator Sam Irving. (both dead)
When I was 17, I dropped out of high school and joined the Marine Corps. Not for lack of ability, rather sheer boredom.
I will never answer any questions about my personal life. You can make that up as you go.
I will voluntarity offer homilies based on life experience. This makes the homily fair game.
I had nothing to do with the Hindenburg. That is urban myth.
I have been diagnosed with colon cancer so I can prove that I am not a perfect ass-hole

I need volunteers for each state.

If you want a President that knows how to repair a toilet, I'm your man.
If you want a President who has to make choices between getting medical care and eating, I'm your candidate.

I support the Democratic Party because they are the lesser of two evils. I don't think the "two party system" is in the best interest of our country and was not intended by the founding fathers. Actually it was created by the kind idiots that brought us Iraq.
First and foremost I'm a populist who believes in the United States.
I will hit the road as soon as I have enough money to pay my rent and campaign at the same time.
