Of course that would be my own special mom, who at 83, is still teaching me and her four grandchildren(My children), about the important things in life, specially the importance of being proud of who you are, of your roots, your family, and that you can accomplish anything with hard work and honesty.
I pray to God that we get to enjoy her for many years to come.

Ok, I forgot to tell you how Ikeep my house smelling yummy. I boil water in a small pot and then as it is boiling I add ground cinnamon, allspice and cloves. I turn off the heat as the the scent fills my home. Cheper and much more effective, and safer than candles and chemical sprays! You can add vanilla, almond, or peppermint extract to the water also. I keep a little pot just for this use and use it almost daily. It smells like I am always baking cookies ( Which by the way , I buy already baked from a favorite bakery.

Hi you guys, its me again! I forgot my most useful tip! I fill a spray bottle equal parts, water, bleach, and dishwaheing liquid to use as a once a week shower cleaner. It works great, kills mold, and leaves my bathrooms smelling great, which says a lot since I have 3 sons. You can use this solution to clean your toilet also. Oh, and by the way coffee grounds make a great fertilizer for house plants! Happy Sunday Y'all!

I have many uses for common household items. I keep an vintage glass jar filled with a paste made of olive oil and sugar, which I use as a facial scrub. A dab of toothpast on a pimple before going to sleep will dry it completely by the time you wake up. I keep my peeled garlic in a jar of olive oil. Not only doest it preserve the garlic, but the garlic flavored oil is great for drizzling over salads and vegetables. Everyone knows that you can stop a pantyhose run by touching the run with a little bit of clear nail polish. Keep your bathroom mirror from fogging up by spraying shaving cream on it and then wiping it completely with a paper towel before showering or bathing. Those perfumed strips that come in magazine ads make great air-fresheners for your car. Just open one up and place near the a/c vent, or in the ashtray area. A diluted solution of vinegar and water is a fabulous and safe spray for controlling fleas on yor pets. Spray your pets regularly during flea season. I use Vaseline for everything. I use it as a cuticle cream, as a lip gloss, foot cream, and even in my pierced earrings posts, before I put them on. Before takling a dusty job like Spring Cleaning, or takling the attic, I coat the inside of my nostrils with Vicks or Vaseline, to keep the dust from entering my nose. I can go on and on, but I'll stop right here.

Don't eat on the run, instead take the time to set your table and maybe light some candles. No T.V., cell phones or laptops during dinner. In this way you can concentrate on the actual meal and take your time. Your family will enjoy the quality time spent together, and none of you will partake in mindless eating.

Great recipe, Angela! I have started using ground turkey for everything that I used to use ground beef for. My family loves my spaguetti with meat sauce made with ground turkey instead of beef (To my Ragu sause I add ground turkey browned with lots of chopped onions, garlic, Chopped green peppers and chili powder, besides salt, pepper, oregano and fresh basil, and one large can of stewed chopped tomatoes). I top the sauce with Fat Free Parmesan cheese. There are never left overs when I make this dish. This coming Sunday in our church's Chili Cook Off . For the past several years our family has taken First and Second place each time. My Chili is going to have Ground Turkey this time. I'll let you know the outcome. Okay, so my 23 y.o. son Alex, always takes First place when he enters his chili without beans. That's okay with me though, since I taught him how to cook. This year he is busy with his social life so Firs prize is up for grabs.
