I do want to give credit to Bush for tax cuts. He has the right idea, but Bush forgot that you have to cut spending too. He should not have cut taxes with us spending so much on the wars, though.

Hillary Clinton. She has $100 million in the bank. Once she picks Obama as her running mate, she will go on the campaign trail as a history-making candidacy. Women, inspite of what they say in the media, and on Gather.com, will fall over themselves voting for her, especially once the mean, old, chauvanistic, white man starts calling into question her ability to lead this great nation.

As a Republican, I have been very disappointed in Mr. Bush's 2 terms as President.

*Spending has gone out of control; he introduced the Prescription drug plan which is the largest new entitlement program since Medicare.

*Hurricane Katrina's response did much damage to his image; highlighting his ineptitude. The public disclosure of conversations with FEMA head Michael Brown were a national embarrassment.

*President Bush's unwillingness to tackle border security is troubling in light of 9/11.

*Immigration. Harriet Miers. Alberto Gonzalez. Abu Ghraib.

*Contrary to conventional wisdom, there exists a compelling body of evidence that Saddam Hussein had a WMD program, and/or capability. However, the President never made a compelling case for going into Iraq, consequently fueling his opponents arguments that he "lied" about intelligence, when in fact, Britain, France, Germany, Russia, and China, not to mention the Clinton Admin. had knowledge of his WMDs.

*Global Warming: Bush has even flip-flopped on this issue!

*Meddling in the internal affairs of Afghanistan: Bush, et. al should have read Imperial Hubris.

*The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are costing the American taxpayer $4 billion per week. The United States cannot continue to fund these two operations indefinitely.

The most disturbing aspect of George Bush's Presidency, is the fact that in 2000 and in 2004 the alternatives were Al Gore and John Forbes Kerry.

I've voted since 1980, when Reagan put the country out her misery and sent Jimmy Carter back to Plains, GA. Since then, I've been very much in tune with Presidential elections, voting in the Republican primaries, and in the General Election.

I don't like the fact that Governor Mitt Romney will probably not be in the race by the time Ohio's primary rolls around on March 4th. Thanks to the smear-campaign on his Mormon beliefs by Mike Schmuckabee, the Christian (so-called) righties are bound and determined that Mitt will not get the nod for the GOP nomination. There is a deep, seething hatred for the Mass. Governor based solely on the fact that he is a member of the LDS church.

What will probably happen is that McCain-Huckabee will be our ticket (McCain being a "war hero" is easy for the religous right to stomach than Mitt). I'm not happy about that, but that is infinitely better than ANY alternative the Democrap's have running.

vick did not get special treatment because of his celebrity status. his sentence fell well within the guidelines set by the law for this offense. anyone with access to a computer and the ability to google the name "michael vick" and "dog fighting" can find this out.

he will undoubtedly get time credited for the time he already has served.

as far as it being "all about the game," his reinstatement to the nfl is not even remotely assured. michael vick lied repeatedly to nfl investigators and the commissioner roger goodell. gambling activities also took place on vick's property, and vick has had substance abuse issues as well.

michael vick is being punished, and will continued to be punished as he will more than likely receive a lifetime ban from professional football.

Dear Brenda:

I registered to vote the second I was eligible to; I've voted since the 1980 Presidential election, when Ronald Reagan beat Jimmy Carter in a landslide. I've voted in every Republican primary since. I will vote in Ohio's March 4th primary (for Governor Mitt Romney, if he is still in the race!), and I will vote in the General Election in November.

I am a registered voter, and so is my wife. My daughter turns 18 on November 10th; she'll register to vote as well and, hopefully, carry on the family's tradition of voting Republican.

The one thing that makes my "blood boil" this political season is the way that people have gaumed onto Barack Obama and his "message of change." I am amazed how people can look to one, fallible, human being as the answer to all of their life's problems.

The way well-meaning, but misguided people parrot back Obama's rhetoric (especially on Gather.com), "hope vs. fear" "change" without getting into the specifics of what he would do, is irritating. Also, this man has never held a position of importance in his working life, how do all of these lemmings know that he will be the savior he is promising to be?

It is sad, if you think about it.

Vote for Pedro: Like Barack Obama, he'll make all of your dreams come true.

Here in NE Ohio, gas is about $3.00 per gallon. Watching some of the business/news analysis programs today, economists and others "in the know" forecast that oil prices will continue to hover at $100 bbl. or above (toward $120) because of the increase in demand from China and India, the fact that we are not increasing any of our own refining capacity, and also speculators are responsible for "bidding up the price" and have it $25 higher than where it should be.

I thought that was pretty interesting.
