for those unaware...this piece is in memory of Gordon Waller, part of the duo of Peter and Gordon from the 60's British Invasion...Gordon was the ex-husband of our own Georgiana Steele and sadly passed away this past week.

well you know how i felt about his music...grew up with peter and gordon...

am very saddened by this...as you said,,,he was headed in a downward spiral and just couldn't stop--

and i know how connected you were with him still...

i've been there...and relate to this piece...

i like the length of line...starting from the bottom of the poem and climbing up...gets steeper and steeper, much like trying to get out of depression...

nice blend of form and content....what makes us get to that point? so hard to understand for many...but if we have been there, we know...

what a great piece...the boat moving the reeds, they try to withstand, but eventually drift away from their moorings...

life pulls at us and we try to withstand...sometimes the waves are too strong and we can't---then death comes...

yes, i agree with Kathryn,,,,a resemblence but more beautiful than stanwyck,,and yes, loretta young,,,i agree there too, a cross of all three....i need to find "the women"---hope i can get it on dvd....

by the by, mildred shay was certainly a beauty...reminded me much of barbara stanwyck....she had classic beauty.
