Yes, I have been quite busy.
I was recently divorced and have had some real depression with that, and I ended up in the hospital with pneumonia, than had a dreadful flu after that. In between these, I wrote and wrote and wrote.

Obama is not my first choice but if he wins the nomination, he'll get my vote.

Attributed to Socrates when I was a girl ! When I was teaching I hoped for students who would behave, and if they slept during class, did not snore. I taught in a tough school and few students wanted to be in school. They did not crave knowledge, but Spencer, I don't think most students craved knowledge when I was in school either.

My friends who teach today hope for students who will behave - teaching is exhausting today. I don't know if it's always been or not, but it really is today. So many kids are smart alecks (one of my pet peeves...), so much 'cool' and flap - gives me a headache if I ponder it.

I picked up my goddaughter yesterday who is 13 going on 30. I was grateful she wasn't thick in eye make-up, all kinds of make-up. She had on huge earrings, very tight jeans, and a very sexy top. Her mother and I both worry about her. I think her Mom should purge her whole wardrobe and make-up. Would there be an argument? I'm sure there would be - I suspect her Mom is afraid. She's also exhausted everyday after work... I don't know the answers, Spencer. I think we just have to keep working on life and things the best we can, be the best example we can be for others.

I love bathing. Water is so calming. I take showers and let the hot water splash over me, thinking very seldom about anything but how good it feels. I love how I feel after I soap up, twice... and rinse off. Bathing is refreshing. Afterward, I am ready to face almost anything.

Your mother sounds like a lovely person in so many ways, Kathryn - that's such a blessing. Thank you for your story which I know must have been painful to write, but your bittersweet relationship with your Mother is a lesson for us all. YOu did the best you could by her. Hope you realize that and don't have any guilt. Some people just cannot manage life well. Lots of people can't actually. But all these people come into this world with their own inheritance from God too. Sounds like she loved you very much, just wasn't able to show it. Godbless, Maggie

I'm married to a Viet Nam vet and it's very difficult. The VA really does try to help him, but it all gets so convoluted. He gets too many meds I think, then they change his meds, and so on, and I really have no idea what helps and what doesn't. He has been very abusive to me and I have had to put him out. It was and is very difficult. I love him very much, but I am afraid of him. Somehow he's just not accountable for his abuse or violence ... and everything seems to be because of the war. I don't know. All our vets need a lot of help. Thanks for writing the article.

I believe the Republicans think the nation will not elect Obama. So, if they get rid of Hillary, they think they can get a Republican president elected again. Godsaveus - nothing changes if nothing changes.

Hillary Clinton has the mental and moral strength and intelligence to lead our country and make the effective changes we need. At the moment it seems to me she is being attacked constantly by the press - they seem hell bent to show her as a negative person. Bill too. It's not right. This is how Corporate Media operates - I hope we're not lapping it up with a spoon. We need to complain about this - loud and clear - to the press.

I'm for Hillary all the way - I'm sure she very much appreciates every bit of support she gets anyway. For that matter, all the candidates do and they are thankful. Stumping about the way they are doing is extremely tiring and difficult - I don't see how they aren't all already exhausted. I didn't expect South Carolina to vote for Hillary - she's a woman and S.C. is not ready to elect a woman president! She got more votes there than I expected, which is great progress for this state. Racism is so bad there still.
