As a survivor of not only sexual abuse but as well emotional, verbal and physical abuse I had to learn to heal in my own way. What is right for one person isn't exactly right for everyone. You go through steps of being angry, denial, secretive, blaming yourself. I have had so many emotions wrapped up in one so many times that it is hard to actually describe. There are times it still comes out I have learned however to make the anger and act in a postive way using that anger.

First I would like to say wonderful article. Is it a mental illness and crime yes I believe it is. However, I as well believe the age thing of a said child is wrong. I know several teen girls (and boys) having sex, having babies, and even lieing about their age with older men (woman) Those individuals are then looked at as a pedophile the rest of their lives. Why is it people worry so much more about a sex offender and not a babysitter who is guilty of verbal and emotional abuse? I am not saying they shouldn't be I am saying both is just as dangerous. We need to start with educating our children. I am as well afraid if we start slapping mental illness on these sex offenders we are going to see a lot more not trying to do anything with their lives and a lot more on state aid or disability where we are going to pay for it.
