This is a very nice article Dave! I too think that many people are quick to give up on marriage today. People often forget that it takes work and commitment. I also think that too few people think beyond the wedding and therefore are not prepared for what life may have in store for them.

Choosing the right DJ or MC is so important, they control the atmosphere of your big day. I can tell you from experience that if a DJ does not know upfront what is expected they will have you doing the chicken dance before nights end.

My niece was married about two weeks ago, they too had a rather unique ceremony. They used both Celtic and other elements, it was beautiful and unique a true testimony to their relationship. Your ceremony will be remembered for a very long time as well by your guests. I really commend you for stepping outside tradition.

I think simple floral arrangements can be done on your own, also favors or treats for your guests. Putting disposable cameras on the table helps with photos, although you may still want to get some portraits taken by a professional.
