These two are pretty much identical. you get a sign-up bonus and only have to pay if you buy the gold membership which they give to you when you first request a check anyway so don't bother. Plus when you request a check they remove $3 for "processing". My totals for these are without doing any surveys with the company and very few paid offers so it is a decent payout. If you do the surveys it can be up to and extra $3.50 a week, but I am averaging about $1.50 a week. I would appreciate it if you would use the exact links I provided as they will give me credit that way.

I have a couple of others that don't pay as well unless you are willing to work to build your downline.

I bought some basil and cilantro seeds about a month ago and put them in small pots on my windowsill. And in another week or so I am going to need to repot them to get them big enough to use (though the mice ate about 1/3 of the cilantro). Plus I only used about half of each packet so I can start more in the fall and have fresh herbs all year long.

Isn't it wonderful to have that little bit of spring in your house?

Too often lately radio stations are losing their individuality and personality - does everyone really want to listen to same 25 songs on all the stations? Personally I like variety and being able to find something different on a different station.

I'm also very annoyed by cell phones - people driving while talking or texting, people having very private conversations in very public locations and then glaring at you as if you are the one infringing.

Smokers who smoke at playgrounds. Oh also the smokers who are too wrapped up in their own little world to lift their hand a little higher so that there smoke doesn't go directly into my 3 year old's face while we are trying to walk on the sidewalk.

Geez, I must be a horrible mother - I have 5 and can't wait to get more. I think Barbie is a bad role model because unrealistic body image expectations not because of self-expression.

I had the good fortune to go to a spring training game once a few years ago. We bought baseballs and sharpies hoping to get some signatures - but of course the game gets rained out in the 7th, making it a legal game - which means no refund and no post-game autographs. But, it was completely worth it even if we had standing room only tickets - we were so close to home plate I could see Varitek's thighs, heehee. Then when it started to rain the security guys put Varitek's very pregnant wife and two daughters under the awning with us. So, we had a great time.

Alex - I can't think of any projects off hand to use junk mail for, I know that shredded paper is good for storing delicate items like ornaments and glasses, though not necessarily so good for shipping since it compacts so easily making breakage likely. I also know that there is a website where you can get yourself removed from a lot of the junk mail lists - sort of like the no-call list for mail. GreenDimes.com. It does cost $20 to join, but they promise to reduce your junk mail by 90% and they plant 5 trees on your behalf. Also if you open your junk mail there will be some very fine print somewhere that tells you how to opt out of that particular list.

One of the most deeply spiritual and religious people I have ever known is a woman married to another woman.

I grew up in the town that has been called the lesbian capitol of the world and so sometimes find it just baffling that homophobia is pervasive and intense in many other parts of the country. Why can't people just be people and not a label?

I'm also a fan of the George R. R. Martin series, though most of them are still in my parent's attic from when I last moved, I've been meaning to dig them out - they are a perfect lazy weekend morning read in bed book
