thank you for your comments. We are eager to begin our adventure on the Radiance of the Seas! I would be great if everyone could join. The Radiance is at capacity for and over 50% of the guests are in the Crown & Anchor Society. Our staff is rearing to go!

I think you will enjoy the Grandeur. Her capacity is approx. 2,500 guests, whereas, the Summit has max capacity around 2,000. The longer cruise will definitely be more relaxing. There will be more time for spa appointments and even more time to lay by the pool!

I enjoy the Vision class of ships the Grandeur belongs. The ships are smaller so you get the same basic accomodations (including Ben & Jerry's) in a more intimate setting. You have been on Celebrity ships which are more intimate also, so I think you will enjoy your experience.

He will take good care of you and you will love the ship! Greg - I booked my airfare many months in advance to get the best deal. The good news is that there are non-stops to both Sao Paulo and Santiago from Miami. The airfare can be combined with the cruise. Check with your travel agent or book online at www.royalcaribbean.com.

I have to say, you will enjoy your trip and much like everyone else is saying, do what you want to do. This is a time to try different things. I am reminded everytime I get on a ship how nice the staff is. I always try to catch the shows and do one shore excursion. Think outside of your world and let yourself just be the big kid you've always wanted to be!

Thank you everyone for your postings. You are right our responsibility is great but it's also great to get to go with our members on the cruises and spend time with them.

Erin: We do have information on the Mediterranean cruises on the royalcaribbean.com website. If you go there and enter the region 'Meditteranean' then the site will drill down to a group of itineraries through 3rd qtr 2009. This is a good place to start. As you drill into the itineraries you should be able to click on some of the ports of call and get additional information. Hopefully this will be a good start for you! Good luck on your research.

I truly hope you consider a cruise vacation, even a small 3 or 4 day weekend vacation will help you experience what millions experience every year. Sometimes people enjoy it as a nice getaway to see many ports of call. Others are fanatics about this ships and can't get enough. All it takes is one time.

The nice thing is that the South America cruises will be running for a couple more months before the ships are repositioned for the summer months; but they are all returning for the next winter season, which of course, is their summer season.

I haven't given an update to this article in a while. We began our cruises to Asia ports in November/December time period so it will be interesting to hear back how that all went. I should write another article because that will give me a reason to ask.

Judy: Congrats on your transition cruise to the next level in the Crown & Anchor Society. And think, you will be spending Valentine's Day in Buenos Aires. It is true, there will be multiple reasons to pack an assortment of clothes. You can also see the guessing process in action since the cruise is 15 days. I haven't seen a weather man yet that can predict weather for half a month. They say layering like colors will help and maybe a jacket and small umbrella. The best advice requires work on your part to check the weather in each port a couple of days before you leave. If you do a proper search, websites can give you a 10-day forecast by city. The 10-Day forecast will give you a seasonal view and help you plan accordingly.

Sheila: We are in the process of researching to make plans for the visas and proper paper needed for each country. I will have to get back to you with an answer but the best bet is to plan ahead to confirm your paperwork is in order.

David: That is fantastic you are planning ahead for a cruise in 2008. The Explorer of the Seas leaves out of Bayonne, NJ and goes down the coast to the Caribbean.

Marty: I hope you enjoy your January cruise on the Freedom. Being the largest class of ship, there is plenty to experience. So what is your ports of call? You should write about your experience and post pictures on the site when you get back.

Barb: I have been to many of the islands, but never Puerto Rico. I have friends that have left on a cruise from there or lived there and they have told me all about the city and port. Very nice island.

Hi everyone. The member cruise I describe is for past guests of Royal Caribbean. You have to have sailed at least on one Royal Caribbean ship previously and you can join the Crown and Anchor Society. After you are a member of Crown & Anchor Society, you receive benefits that are included while onboard a ship, dollars off and/or upgrades towards future cruise at certain levels. One of the benefits of the program is the member cruises I mention. Members of Crown and Anchor Society are invited to go on 4 designated cruises sponsored by the Royal Caribbean.

The Gather folks have mentioned to me that they sponsored a 'Writers Cruises' on the Jewel of the Seas in 2006. There are some articles about the cruise on Gather if you do a search.
