Ok I will not read further.  Of course medical malpractice insurance is a reason for higher costs.  It is driving general practitioners out of medicine.  You show you ignorance by ignoring that.

so you think there is nothing wrong with not taking ads from people if they do not agree with a point of view.  This is crazy.  The media slobers all over this guy and now they will not even allow an open dialogue.  Sorry if I believe in Freedom.

Actually the democrats who voted not to close gitmo are Americans that understand what it mean to protect and defend.  These terrorrists did not follow the rules and should not be brought to America.

I actually want to get a response on this, how is waterboarding a terrorists tourture, when we do it to every combat flight officer, because that is usually done to them on capture.  So is it too rough for terrorists but fine for Americans?

Steve-

The ultimate disincentive is that you are responsible for yourself.  Giving the government the power to tax people to comply is restricting freedom.  We have fallen into a society that it is okay to use a service (Health care) and then have many who will go about their lives and buy expensive tvs, cars, and cell phones while claiming they are too poor to pay their bill.  The governments response to this is to require doctors to continue to treat these people.  Then on what the government controls they limit what doctors can charge to far less than what it really costs so most general practice doctors find it hard to be succesful especially with high insurance rates because some of these people who never pay will be happy to sue even when its not the doctors fault.

Good healthcare is avaliable for individual plans for not a lot of money.  Now, I would not mind states doing like hawaii did by forming a large group that everyone could buy into to lower the risk.  The problem is people have to share the pain and actually put money in.

How dare you. Me educate myself about our society? I have they are called the founding documents. They layout exactly what our country should be about. By, the way what is so wrong with the 50s. There was much sucess and prosperity.

Thanks for the point Steve, I too work out and eat right. Of course I should be punished for those that dont.

Carla- The only put downs were for the way the whole left lumps things together. Government healthcare brought to us by the people who brought us education. I think not. I dont want doctors treated like people treat our teachers. Government should not be competing with the private sector. One of the reasons we have so many problems with healthcare already is the public model. Doctors do not get fair compensation for medicare and medicaid treatments. Second the government mandates that people have to be treated regardless of their ability to repay.

I am sorry if i think people should have to make though choices between medical payments or plasma tvs and othet luxuries. It is sad to see America move away from personal responisbility to a handout society.

Wrong again there Sheryl and Ron, the Constitution lays out limited powers that are given to the federal government and all other powers are reserved for the states or the people.

Ron- "The Common Good" is not an enumerated power. Maybe a little legal education would help. No my views are a winner. They are the very reason America exists. We need to focus back on what a federal government should really be doing and let states and people have more freedom. If instead of a stimulus we had given each America their 9,000 dollar share we all would be much better off.

I really dont understand why the left has a problem with personal responsibility. From what I have found online those that need the most help post on dailykos and other liberal sites maybe should spend a little less time complaining and a little more time working

The people who lost freedom under bush were terrorists. Not upset about that

Now, If i dont want insurance thats my god given right. Its an insurance policy, by very definition optional. They should not and I will not stand by and let them tax peoples choices of soft drinks and chips to buy insurance for people who could get it if they didnt buy a plasma tv.
