The writing is going okay...still awaiting the "big break" though.

oooh...put discovery in the title!! Sorry....it's just my opinion Iand not trying to start an argument or debate), but I'm a bit put off by a title that doesn't quite fit the theme.

I suggested the title change because imo the words Strange and Obession together make it feel like something to be ashamed of and it isn't. I don't know what kind of title would work but something that digs deeper into the emotion. I don't know...I can't think right now. :-/

Btw...I thought this one was a great story and I think I gave it my 10. ;-)

Happy V-Day everyone! Just popping in to uh..say that. I'm planning a day of writing--starting a new book (what better day to start a new romance, eh?) so hopefully it'll keep me writing something coherent. Have a wonderful love filled day! ;-)

Hey Y'all...I've been playing catch up using my husband's laptop...mine is dying a slow death and is unusable...and I don't access the family computer when the kids are home from school until they're off to bed....okay that makes sense in my head.

Anyway...I'm not a short story writer so this was a good execise for me....too bad it wasn't good enough to win. ;-P But, yeah, I wrote Boundless Love....couldn't think of a good title so got stuck with that one. Glad those of you who liked it...liked it. =)

Congrats to the winners. I can't remember who I voted for but they were all enjoyable stories.

Re: Ken's article, I dont' expect to live off the the sale of my books (once I start selling any that is) and I really don't do this for the money although it's a nice perk. But I feel for those who worked hard to get those books published only to have the royalties taken away because someone who isn't them wants to give the books away. Yeah...that made sense in my head.

Hi Cathy, No, I didn't do ABNA last year. I'd only heard about it because one of my friends had made the quarterfinals or something and I went to root for him. I only stumbled on it this year because it was mentioned at one of the forums I visit. I went back and forth with deciding if I should enter, and decided, what the hell no one else wants the book. haha
Okay gotta run...my son wants to test my typing speed...haha.

Good Morning Strangers! (well, stranger than me anyway) ;-) It's been forever and a day since I've been here but I've been lurking for a bit...and trying to find you. =) Things have been a bit hectic with life here, which is why I haven't been around (not enough time in my day to do more than pop in for a howdy).

Hey Jamie, I entered ABNA too...looks like a lot of wombats did! The deadline for entries is Sunday but until then you're free to upload cleaner versions if you want. I have a couple of times because in my haste to submit I didn't see the spelling errors my spell check didn't pick up.

Anyway....good to "see" you all. Hope your year has been much been than mine has so far. I may post a "blog" type article to rant about it...or just get it off my chest..whichever.

Hey, Ken's contest sound cool too. I'm gonna have to check it out. =)

Good Morning everyone! Popping in while I can to see what today's topic is about. Good one, Pat.

I write what's considered Latina Romance Fiction (personally I just label it romance and my characters all happen to be Hispanic) so I'll use food to show the ethnicity, how grounded the characters are as a family.

Since almost everyone loves Mexican food (or food in general), just a bit of 'seasoning' in a scene can help jump start the senses and pull a reader into the story....which is where you want them.
