Not being well versed in the RWA guidelines, but I will hazard the comment that RWA has the time and resources to review individual publishers, but not each contract written to writers. Too time consuming. My two cents, Laurie.

Daughter is feeling better, she got up long enough to make chocolate chip cookies. Okay she made the batter and I plopped on pans and removed from oven. AND clean up. But the cookies are nummins!

Nice di@khead, Jamie! I think the slight adjustment suggested about the bore and popping babies statement are a good tone down.

Sherrie, I too liked Lisa's "Firewall". What I want to know is what is the "chain-like organization?" That is frickin' hysterical!

Managed to do the staple shopping for Thanksgiving. Can you believe the largest turkey I could find was only 21.5 lbs! I guess we'll make do. Who else is cooking the whole spread this year? Travelers? Be safe.

Daughter still has mild fever, but greatly improved. I think she'll be well enough to make pies, really that is the most important thing. Trust me if you have tried her caramel apple pie and pumpkin pie you'd be rooting for sufficient improvement. Plus she wants to go see New Moon with her gal-pal, and the following day is her 1 month anniversary with the boyfriend - they're going out to dinner. So cute! He brought her tacos one day while she was sick and her take home exam and books another.

Rand, seconding Ken's question: "whose the master?"

Glad to hear of the improvement Pat. Yay!

My muse is a megalomaniac. There is just something about the Reformation that excites her.

I have either open format optional papers to grade or the final. I think I'm taking the final, 'cause I got plenty of my own papers to have ready and exams and don't need the wild imagings with no grading matrix.

Pat, I hope you feel better soon dear. So sorry you're ucky-feeling :(

Dana, crossing and double-crossing. Does that negate the crossing? Knocking on wood and tossing salt everywhere. I use salt like fairy dust.

Much better. The child is sick now, so running around taking care of her. Poor thing.

Yay! Everyone loves the No-Breathing pants! Few more weeks and they'll be fine!

Still losing!

Okay, time for the rah, rah speech. You're on track, but you need to remember the reason you started all this: to be healthier.

Your ARE doing that.

Cut back on some of the indulging, but enjoy some treats too! For each slice of pie take a walk and dictate your story ideas. Then you are working out and writing at the same time!

By the way, did you decide what your goal present is? Make up your mind, you're almost there. You're going to be there before Christmas! So what is it the eyes or clothes???

Nano? I have been obsessing over one Northern Renaissance artist's dual patrons of Cardinal Albrecht (Archbishop of Mainz) who's excessive sales of indulgences to pay off the cost of his bishopric was the man grievance of one poor priest, and Martin Luther himself. Throw in a Saxon Elector as protector of Luther, Frederick the Wise and one Holy Roman Emperor looking to validate the German people via origin myth creation, Maximilan I and you've got a perfect storm culminating in the Reformation. Sweet! I faliled to mention all the fun humanist players in this game.

It depends on whether they're attempting to be the voice of authority on history or if they're using it as a backdrop. Once you assume the mantle, you assume the responsibility to get it right. A lark, as long as the transgressions in question are not ludicrously wrong, I can overlook shortcomings. I might glance up and roll my eyes, but I'll keep going. Authority? Well, get it wrong, and I'll burn you at the stake.

Child called at lunch to get picked up. So far no fever, but aches and fatigue are present. *fingers crossed

Forgot to address voice. It is the author as narrator, if anyone can be substituted, then the voice is not evident. Which by the way is one of the reasons I find books on tape kinda creepy. I hear the author talking to me, or the characters when I read. I find another person's voice very distracting. It seems like a different story altogether.
