Vern, sounds like you know your geographic features. This area is at the end of the Texas Hill Country-- where we live there is lots of karstic limestone. However by the time you arrive there at Castroville, the hills peter out. Most of the buildings are stone and appear to be limestone-- though many are plastered over. We've springs in Austin... the famous Barton Springs-- less than a mile from us and very cool on a hot summer day. CS

It is the Medina river-- I belive springs are involved. It's a lovely spot, indeed.
