HA! They DO look like dreadlocks!
Well, the place this was taken is called the Safety Stop pub.
It is where all the divers hang out on Koh Tao (The island I used to work off of) We would go there on our lunch breaks if we were diving close to the shore, or, like in that picture, after work but before we headed back to the island that we all lived on (Koh Samui)
Now, most of the bars on the islands don't exactly have walls. They have plastic tarps that can be pulled down in case of a storm, and that is about it.
What you are seeing are the roots of plants that have decided to flower on the thatched roof, but grown down the walls and into the soil. It is sort of hard to explain. I wish I had a better picture.
That particular pub had the entire north side COVERED in leaves and flowers and other living matter that decided to call the pub home.

While I think this has a stronger pace and flow than your heaven and hell piece (another one of my favorites) it doesn't have the thought provoking imagery that made that one really stand out.
However, I must say that the heartbeat you give this one is addictive. We'll call it an even tie. :P

I couldn't help but smile. The secret weapon of every great author is simply "connection"
I am as far away from your life as you can imagine. Sure, I walk the ocean hand in hand with my husband, but it is a whole lot warmer than 75 degrees! My life is filled with homicidal trigger fish, monks with blow guns and a whole slew of things that are normal to me; yet somehow, across the miles and miles and currents that divide us, I can still fully relate to your peaceful weekend get away with a nice steak, the woman you love and a good bottle of wine. Even if the content and voice are different, there is always some common denominator for you to catch and weave.

I wonder how much shorter these lists would be if you were offering 10 million bucks! I know I'd have to think good and hard about that one!

But, since a million is the question, I guess my answer will be a lot easier.

1) Cause harm to an innocent/non threatening of my life animal
2) Do anything to hurt my husband or some members of my family.
3) um.. Ok. Even just for a million, this is sorta short. I think I'm a bad person. :(

Let's see.. jackass type stunts? Hell, I do those without incentive. Hurt someone? Honestly, it really depends on the person.
Yeeeah. I'm bowing out of this thread now.

Actually, I've toured a coconut plantation, and you'd be surprised at how good they have it. First off, only the fit, healthy male monkeys work because
-and I'm sooo not making this up
The females are too temperamental and violence prone once they hit puberty. Secondly, vets are kept on hand and their health care is better than a whole lot of people in the U.S.
Figure it this way. You spend a whole lot of money getting a baby monkey imported from the mainland. You have to feed it, raise it, then spend even MORE money on training it. The last thing you want is a loss of profit from a sick one having to take a day off, or even worse having one die on you. It isn't exactly like you can get monkey insurance around here (at least that I'm aware of.)

Muhahaha! Poo flinging is quite natural when one is frustrated. It's sorta sad we have to censor it just to earn our daily thirty bananas.

I really parallel the Bush administration to fur-coat-wearing-pygmies though, not the poo flinging, hard working monkeys.
In a PC world, the Bush Administration isn't brave enough to fling a little poo at the RIGHT people, but at least watching them sweat their butts off and trying to balance unnaturally is quite amusing.
Well, it's amusing to me at least, but I haven't been back to the U.S in a while and probably won't be for even longer!
