Norma, I know exactly how you feel. This year is the first in the last couple of years that I am actually healthy enough to enjoy the holiday! I feel that generosity is not necessarily monetary.....it is of the heart! Sometimes a hug may be all a person needs to feel special. That is what I try to do with my kiddos at school. Some of them just need to feel that someone cares about them. In the mornings I try to greet all the students coming in with a smile and a "good morning." A lot of times that is all they need to get their day off to a good start!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I have not lost the spirit this year. I must admit though that a couple of years ago when I was so ill, it was hard to maintain a happy and upbeat note. While I have wonderful memories of the holidays growing up and have hopefully given my children wonderful memories as well, I have always tried to teach the spirit is not just for Christmas or Easter but all year round. It does not matter to me if someone is Christian or not........I have friends of many different faiths. As long as they are caring and loving of others, that is what I look for in my friends.

Hey Normal, stores are fairly well stocked here.........bringing you some more tea bags, hot cocoa, and other essentials. After the cold of last night, hot drinks are much desired! LOL!

The weather forecast for here is a 40% chance of snow showers on Friday. If I am reading it right and if the forecasters are right, it should not stick. Seems it was the talk of the school today. Call me a "bah-humbug" but I don't think it will amount to anything if we get anything at all!

{{{HUGS}}} I wish I had amazing words of wisdom or at the very least share some of my strength with you. During my recent hard time I just kept living one day at a time....not looking back and focusing on the now. Almost two years later and I am finally starting to feel like "me" again.

Remember, you do have people out there that care!

Yes, it is the Boy Scouts. Unfortunately, they only sold two trees today. I guess I just happened to see them after one of those sales. Sigh. Of course, it is still early yet. Hopefully things will pick up soon.

Thank you Lynn...you are so sweet. Actually we have already sold some trees and when I ran by the bank (across the street from the lot) they were loading another tree. I am hopeful that we will sell all 606 trees!

I still need to food shop for turkey day. I have the ham.....saving turkey for Christmas. I am off this week but so much to do! Fortunately it is just my family to worry about. We haven't had a large family dinner in years.

Then I am one of the very few that are blessed it seems. I was diagnosed with leukemia January 11, 2008 and my marriage is still strong. Of course, being military at one point we had already survived the odds against staying married. (Military, police, and firemen/women have some of the highest divorce rates.) My husband and I have been together for 35 years now and still going strong!

Beautiful pictures! I was told that when I was in elementary school that Helen Keller spoke there a couple of times. She could tell what color a person had on just by the feel of the fabric. I don't know how much of that is true though.

Popping by to say HI! I am on hyper drive right now.....trying to catch up on emails after delivering my video camera to a friend and then rushing home so youngest could pack for a camping weekend. Hmmmm, maybe I have had too much coffee for today.....LOL!

Norma, I love the piece! In fact, I have been wanting a new entertainment center but what I want would have to be built. It would be like the bottom of the wardrobe there but double the length. The one I have now I built with the help of a neighbor several years ago. We made some minor mistakes on it but it has lasted over twenty years! I have a long wall in my living room thus the reason for the length. Maybe I will have to commission Donald to build one for me.
