This piece hit me like a kick in the gut on memory lane. I spent so many years taking beatings from my drunken ex. I volunteered for many more so that his two young daughters would have that many less to remember when they grew up. "Awareness" from neighbors, teachers, parents of friends is essential, unfortunately most people "Don't want to get involved". I spent many years at the bottom of a bottle trying to forget only to realize that I don't WANT to forget and take the chance of entering HELL all over again, been sober 5 years now. Smiles to you my dear friend......

Lynn- Yes, he was an important part of our lives. He was not just one of my boyfriend's bosses but a truly dear friend who will be missed tremendously by all who ever encountered him.

Nancy-LOL! The girls in our attorney's office, both have 16's, put a sign above their desks saying: ALICE FOR PRESIDENT! anytime they're asked about it they show a printed copy of the article. To date I have 45 votes! Smiles to light your way...

David- I actually began writing this for my stepson (16) who is having some serious issues, before I knew what happened I was deep inside my "dark" place. I've been on this journey for so long I've got saddle sores! LOL! Smiles my dear friend...

Whine - Arava is making my hair fall out (sniff)
Shine - I'll cut my hair donating to Locks Of Love and give a smile to one who needs it. I grew my hair long more than once in this life and will do it again.
