If the restaurant has a required tip policy I would eat elsewhere.

To not pay the required tip is theft. It's no different than deciding after you get your meal that the food wasn't as good as you expected and only paying part of the bill. You no what price you are paying and you take your chances that the meal and the service will be up to your standards.

What makes you think it's temporary?

When the government has control of corporations whose unions are big backers of the politicians in power it just makes me nervous.

Ford was able to survive without being sold to the government.

I am hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.

Gerald R. Ford is under-rated. He was the perfect person for the job at the time. It was no easy task to pardon Nixon. But, by sacrificing his chance at a second term, he allowed the country to move forward.

Certainly more than an accidental placeholder.

By the way, well written post. I like thoughtful opinions without name-calling. A nice change of pace, to be sure!

This is my first Halloween in my new neighborhood. And we've had a couple hundred trick-or-treaters! Nothing like my old neighborhood, 12 in two years.

It's a replica thermometer. But, I think my Sis has had it hangin' on the shed for 10 or 15 years. So does that make it even older?
